So I got rid of the POS 2024 3500 I had and ordered a 2026 Duramax 3500 on December 15, 2025. Traded in the lemon and took a kick in the nuts. Whatever. Anyways, it was 2 weeks ago that the factory finally picked up the order. Today they gave me a production date of May 18 2206. I live just outside Vancouver BC and the dealer indicated that after production it usually takes 1-1.5 months for them to receive it. I never would have thought I'd have so much trouble spending $120K. I don't know if I'd be better waiting for a 2027... No real point to this post other than to vent to someone other than my wife. And to let others know that orders will eventually get picked, though in Canada dealer allocation is pretty shitty compared to the USA. I also miss driving a pickup- the 2021 GMC Terrain doesn't cut it.

I can't say if allocation between Canada and the US is different, but I doubt it.  Are you sure the dealer actually used their allocation back in December, or they finally decided to use one more recently for your truck?

And then, even if they did use one of their allocations for your truck awhile ago, if your truck happened to use some options that were under constraint, that would also delay GM picking up the order (which your dealer could have warned/told you about).

May 18th is the target production week (TPW) it is scheduled for production, not a individual day.

You are better than me, I know that the perfect truck doesn't exist but if GM sells me a POS like you said I would not encourage them by buying a even more expensive one but hey to each is own  🙂 good luck man we work hard enough to get much better than a POS

You have better chances of picking winning lottery numbers than to know for sure when your vehicle will ship. When you combine the QC issues with geographical delivery of vehicles (at the lowest possible cost so they need to aggregate deliveries - and they don't not use a first in first out methodology), this can be the most frustrating part of the whole journey. There is no transparency to actual data. Your vehicle may ship quickly, it may not. It will likely take longer the more rural you are and the lower the volume of cars your dealer sells.

Don't order a vehicle, find close enough on a lot.
