Here's an adapter for iPod for GM.

http://www.usaspec.com/ipodgm.htm

I haven't used it so I'm not sure how well it works, but it sounds like you can control iPod using the stock HU.

Be aware that if you use this adapter that you cannot also add a CD Changer.

Uses CD Changer Port, If Vehicle has existing CD Changer it must be disconnected.

this is from the PAC, it says you can have the cd changer and it will still work.

The AAI-GM12 allows direct interface of any preamp level audio source to a 2003 GM Class II factory radio with a slave unit, eliminating the need for sound degrading solutions like an FM modulator. The AAI-GM12 interface inputs sources from units such as a DVD, VCP, MP3, Satellite Radio or Play Station.

• Lower cost and higher quality sound than a FM modulator.

• Comes with a three position switch which allows you to switch between two auxiliary inputs and the factory slave unit.

• High quality audio isolation IC eliminates engine noise.

• Internal CMOS electronic switching for long term reliability.

Requirements: 2003-2005 SUV’s and trucks with RDS radios (Class II radios). The SUV or truck must have a factory external XM receiver or factory DVD Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) or factory/aftermarket CD changer (factory 6 disc changer built in the radio does not qualify). Currently only the Escalade, or Denali's have a separate 6 disc changers. Vehicles with optional Navigation radio with 6 disc changer in center console also qualify. Please note that the slave unit must continuously be playing or if XM or DVD, must be on and playing for the AAI-GM12 to work

Hey guys, I finished my install of the NON-LUX TNR on my truck and the cd changer is on the way.... but i think the wiring diagram is for the y91 pin setup rather than the nonlux wire arrangement. Please help me out.

If you mean the wiring for the CDX, it is the same for both setups and even the non-Bose headunits

the dimming is all done through the data bus wire on the 03's and up

Klaus and others. . . Thanks for the inputs. I've passed them along to my local car audio installer. He wasn't familiar with the products and is checking them out for me. It sounds like the suggestions you gave me will make it work. I really appreciate it.

What is the correct number for the CD Changer. I need to get the right one with the metal tabs on the side not the plastic push pins.

The old part number 15055250 comes up as invalid.

15055250 is one of them for the 03 and up with metal tabs. most places can cross ref with that no.

Why GM went this route for '05 with having a TNR model that doesn't allow for the addition of an external slave 6-disc CD changer on the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon (and apparently H2, too) is beyond me...especially since Denali and Escalade TNR models allow for (if not already come with) the external slave changer.  I mean, IIRC--the '05 Tahoe/Suburbans that come with TNR units do not offer a 6-disc CD changer option...meaning (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that if you wanted to listen to the factory CD you had to first eject the nav disc from the TNR unit, then load the audio CD into the TNR.

All the TNR's will accept the CDX if you add it. The tahoe's Yukon, and Suburban just didn't have it as an option, but it still can be added to the TNR's and same way we added it to the IRN's in the trucks.

Okay, that's definitely reasonable...but why GM doesn't/didn't offer it (factory slave CD changer) in combination w/ the TNR as a factory-installed option on the '05 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban is beyond me... :seeya:

Must be GM's way of distinguishing option content between Denali/Escalade and the "lesser" Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon...

Ok. I installed the Head Unit. Where do you mount the antenna. I saw one scematic of where it supposedly goes. I cant get the dash apart. Does it really matters where it goes and where did everyone else do it. Right now I have it just dangling in the back of the radio till I get the theftlock turned off next week. Let me know so I can make sure it works.
