GMC SS

Hi Guys,

I hope someone here can help me out. I was driving home today after work and saw a truck that I haven't seen around here before. It was an all black GMC Seirra with a decal on the side that read SS6 or SSG Not sure which since it was moving when I saw it. I also noticed larger then usual rims with the GMC label on them and decent tires, I'm guessing 275 or 285 sizes. Im just wondering if anyone knows of a GMC package out there that would have these things from the factory.

any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, GMC does not offer a factory SS package, it could have been a dealer installed package though.

If it was moving how do you know it had the GMC emblem on the wheels??

It could have been the GMC Denali or some package with 20 inches that can be ordered from the factory.

It's a Pro Sport Package. I got it with my new sierra. Worth it's weight in gold if you ask me. Comes with the 20" rims & tires(I got the stock set too), chrome tubular step assists, track style toneau cover, corsa exhaust, bed-liner(your choice, I went rhino) vent visors, hood bug-deflector and GMC mudguards. All that for $4,000 extra. You can't buy 20" wheels and tires for under $4,000. I'm very happy with mine. None of that stuff like the 20" wheels or exhaust void your warranty as they are all GM products, which is a plus. I did so well at the dealers that I got 4 grand off the truck and got the pro sport kit for free. Lovin' it...

I have the Chevy and its called SSC. Its just a dealer package.

Fantastic, I knew this was the right place to come for answers. Thanks Prosport Tim for the info. Your truck sounds great. I'll have to look into my local dealers about that package. By the way I saw the GMC wheels as he was pulling away from a light, could see the wheels but not the exact sticker on the side.

Yes you can. I paid less than $1000 for my tire and wheel package on the suburban. the tires were used but the rims were new...

You got a deal then. Honestly if you walk into any Town Fair tire etc.etc. your not getting 20" good rubber for under $300/ea. Secondly I personally wouldn't spend the money on new rims and not put new rubber on them. That's just me though. My buddy just put 20" wheels and tires on his S10 and paid $3,000 and he's buddy/buddy with the owner and saved 15%. All depends on what brand and where you go I guess. Glad to hear you got a stellar deal though.. BTW-by buying the GM products you don't void your warranty. Try putting aftermarket 20's on your rig and then walk into the dealer with a tranny problem and they tell you, "tough luck, it's not a factory item". Voids your warranty in a heartbeat.
