1979 GMC Sierra - parts truck

1988 Chevrolet S10 - 2.5 4 cylinder 5 speed, slow, a real dog, one tough old truck though

1993 GMC Sonoma - 2.8 V6 5 speed, sharp black clean fast little truck, still miss it after 11 years

1994 Chevrolet Cheyenne - 4.3 V6 5 speed, stepside, it was a piece of crap, never could figure out the problems, traded it off after a few months

1997 GMC Sierra - 4.3 V6 5 speed. Still one of my favorite trucks, fast and fun, saw half the country in this truck...

2001 Chevrolet Silverado - 4.3 V6 5 speed, was a good truck, never as quick as the '97, lots of problems toward the end

1998 Chevrolet Silverado - 5.7 V8, Z71, my first auto and first 4WD, really enjoying the truck, I still like these models...

1982 nissan pickup. Regular cab, 4cyl, 2wd. Rusted out piece of junk, but it only cost me 100 bux. Was just what I needed at the time and usually started too. At 240k, a head gasket started leaking, so I drove it to the scrap yard and got 50 bux for it.

Sorry, I need 5 replies to ask my real question about hinge pins so these are going to be in separate replies.

1989 Audi 200 Quattro Wagon. Great running car (truck), all wheel drive, and step on the gas and it went like crazy. Not exactly a truck, but between the roof racks and the seats laying down, we hauled our fair share of stuff in this one.

Drove it for a year or so and sold it for 1000 more than I paid for it :)

1988 Ford ranger extended cab. My current plow truck for my apartments. It's a rusty, crusty, barely road worthy piece of junk, but it always starts in the winter and 4Lo works fine.

2000 Ford 4 door extended cab. 4x4, 5.4 liter engine. Ran and drove great. No problems with it. Bought it with 110k and drove it to 145k. Sold it a year later for the price I paid for it. Was a nice running truck. Had a fair amount of wind noise above 70mph.

2001 Ford SuperCrew. 4x4, 4.6 liter engine. Was surprised at what a dog this truck was compared to the 2000 5.4 liter. it just doesn't want to getup and go. mileage when empty is a bit better than the 5.4, but fill it with people and load the bed... mpg dropped to 14 or so. Again, like the 2000 not a bad truck, no mechanical problems... had to change tie-rod ends, but in my book, that's routing maint.

Nice having the space of a crew. Until my kids are grown, I hope to have a crew cab in my fleet.

I guess I didn't count right. I could have stopped with the last reply, but I have one more truck.

The real reason I'm here making up 5 replies to a post. Just bought last weekend, 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 HD, Crew Cab, 4x4, 6.0 liter motor with 110k miles on it. LT package.

Initial impressions: Nice looking and solid feeling truck. Runs and drives great. I like the delayed downshift of the Chevy compared to the ford. Seems to be much more drivable on the highway. By it not downshifting so early, I don't feel like I'm beating it to get it to go up a hill. It needs new shocks and a tie rod end, so I can't compare the ride yet. I like all the compartments and junk holders, but I was unimpressed by the doors that cover some of them. From the drivers seat, when you open an access panel, you can't see inside without slouching or laying down in the seat. Doesn't make much sense to me. I'm not real fond of chevy's leather (I've been spoiled by the Audi's I've owned). No squeaks or rattles inside and not much wind noise while driving home in a 20mph cross wind (nice). The doors shut with a nice solid whump. I'm sure I'll have more opinions about it after I drive it a while.

Some of the posts here talking about problems people have with their trucks have me a bit on edge at the moment. But I know... people only go see the Dr when they're sick... These are good trucks... right?

1978 K-20 Camper Special 350 lifted 3" with 33s. This thing was a beast... and rust bucket, towards the end there was 1 bolt in the top hinge holding the door on. This was my first truck... and the last one I could sit on the INSIDE fender and change sparkplugs.

1981 C-10 Silverado 6.2L Diesel. This was a donor truck but turned out to be a better daily driver. 1981 was a first for a lot of things so I had to live with a lot of weird things (like a 6.2 backed by the first year 700R4).

1985 K-10HD Suburban 6.2L Diesel. Great for towing... and hauling the dogs around (I got it used from a volunteer fire department).

1989 C-30 Silverado Dually 6.2L Diesel regular cab 14" bed. Sometimes the desire for a dumping flatbed pickup outweighs your better sense... was really nice, but I never used it.

2005 K2500 Suburban Quadrasteer. Only thing that would make this a sweeter ride would be a duramax and allison. Oh well I love it anyway.

1996 S-10 - REG CAB, 4cyl. - Great First Truck, put over 110,000 miles through college, only issue was tranny replaced around 75,000, but probably because I thought it was a diesel...LOL

2000 Silverado - EXT CAB, 8cyl., 3 door - Another Great Truck, no issues, just basic maintenance. Good Power, just missing 4wd, and 4th door.

2003 Silverado Z71 - EXT CAB, 8cyl., 4th door - Amazing Truck, did everything I wanted, pulled boats, trailers, OK fuel mileage. Only thing missing was Crew Cab...

Hopefully a year from now the truck of my dreams will be a Crew Cab 2500HD with Duramax and Allison Tranny.

'95 Dodge Dakota Sport 2wd, Reg cab, shortbox, 4cyl / 5 speed. Great little truck, regret trading this for a car.

'97 Chevy 1500 W/T 2wd, Reg cab, longbox, 4.3 V-6. Excellent truck, sold it to someone I know.

'05 Jeep Liberty CRD (2.8L Common Rail Diesel), absolutely the worst POS I have ever owned.

'07 Chevy Silverado Z-71 4X4, Reg cab, longbox. 5.3L V-8. The honeymoon isn't over.
