Good Afternoon GM Tech, I'm considering installing a seat heater on drivers seat only. What procedure should I follow to remove seat from truck. It is not the electric seat. After disconnecting battery, can I unplug seat connector at rear base of seat, and unbolt and remove seat, or is there a procedure for air bags. Will disconnecting battery set any codes? I bought a "settings saver" that plugs into cigarette lighter, which should protect radio, don't know enough about the other systems. Will I have to remove Air Bag fuse? Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Thank you!!!! By the way, I think I've read that you're in Florida, in Upstate NY, Warm seats are a nice feature.

Disconnecting the battery won't set any codes, but disconnecting any part of the air bag system will set a code if you haven't pulled the fuse or disconnected the battery.

While you SHOULD power down the air bag system before disconnecting any part of it, I'll tell you right now that many techs don't, with no problems. However, there is a risk for having an air bag blow up in your face. Seen it happen.

You'll need a special socket to remove the seat nut/bolts. I don't have the specs on that right now since I'm at home, but take a look at 'em and you'll see what I mean.

Can you describe the procedure you would use. Pull fuse first, Battery second? Aything after that? Then safe to unbolt and unplug seat? Thanks. You are right, what happened to regular hardware? Progress!
