K&n Air Filter

Well I got rid of my K&N air filter a couple weeks ago and replaced it with just a regular air filter from the local parts store...I haven't noticed any differences yet and hopefully that will be the case. I don't really think the K&N did anything in the first place. What do you guys think, will I notice a big difference in anything?

K&N is pure hype. Crappy filtration, rapid clogging, expensive and MAF sensor fouling. Lots better places to spend your bucks. Best filter in all respects is OEM. Spend your money on a tune. Their decals look nice though.

On the trucks that have the 5.3 I couldn't agree more with what you said. at least with the drop in's. I still think/believe that the full CAI's give you some benefit, but its questionable if its enough that you will ever recoup the $$$ spent on it... unless you like under hood bling.

I'm a Volant user... I like it and recommend it... Luckily there are no meetings or support groups for this addiction.

Well when I bought thing I obviously bought all of the hype. Results did not come with the filter. Your right though the decals still look good.

I have the FIPK on mine, but in my case I needed to increase air flow to the engine because of the custom engine. The stock unit could not flow the needed air volume.

Iam wondering the same thing, i have a 2005 4.3L v6 silverado, wondering should i spend the money on the k&n intake, or just get a filter and stick it on the end of the stock tubing?
