What is the Diablosport Predator?

The Predator is a state-of-the art, high performance tuning flash programmer in a sleek handheld design. Once connected to the vehicle, the Predators internal computer recognizes the vehicles PCM and automatically picks the proper tuning files designed specifically for that PCM. Inside the Predator's memory are the actual tuning files that optimize spark timing and air/fuel ratio curves. The transmission parameters are remapped to improve the shift characteristics such as shift firmness and shift points. Unlike other 'tuners', DiabloSport's programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a more predictable power delivery. DiabloSport engineers spend many hours on the dyno, street and track to ensure the tunes provided with the Predator are the best they can be.

This forum is looking like a womens magazine. isn't there a place for this kind of thing?

Yeah but nobody reads it. The vendor's section is so dead, there aren't even crickets chirping. For example, our last post there on Nov 13th now has 27 views and 0 replies. This post has already had 14 view in less than 2 hours. Direct advertising ends up being better here.

We try to keep them to a minimum through. Most just do one thread and put all of our truck sales in there.

That's true, but the purpose of the forum is to help other truck owners with problems, issues and upgrades...

So, here is my $.02...checking the T Byrne website baove I found the Diablo Predator for $399 with free shipping....I just paid $299 with free shipping. The web site does say you need to call or email for lowest price, but I prefer not to go through the hassle...bought mine online at a site that displayed teh lowest price w/o the hassle...

I understand what your saying but a few extra minutes could have saved you some more money. We list this info at the top of the opening page of our website -

Most prices listed on the site are the minimum we are allowed to advertise. Please call or e-mail to receive our current best pricing for the products that you are interested in!

The reason for this is most manufacturers have what is called Minimum Advertsed Pricing (M.A.P.). We have to follow those guidelines. If not, we could be cutoff. That is why we ask people to contact us to receive a quote. Don't mind selling at retail but customers are happy to save some (or alot) of money.

We've been posting some specials in our section of the site but hardly anyone goes in there. I think I'd be the same way. For example, I'm into jet skis. I hardly ever read the vendor's section but I do welcome product ads in the sections that I am in. This way I don't have to go looking for the specials. They bring them to me. And if I don't want to read the ad, I just keep scrolling down.

As a college professor of business, I understand the MAP (minimum advertised price) policy. As an FYI for those that have not heard of it before, I am quoting from Fredrikson and Byron, experts in business law...

"MAP is a supplier’s policy that its channel members are not permitted to advertise prices below some specified amount (the minimum advertised price). The supplier may or may not have a policy about the channel member’s retail price as well. Such resale price policies present separate but closely related legal issues and are frequently dangerous from an antitrust perspective.

MAP programs are often incorporated into the supplier’s cooperative advertising policy. The policy typically provides for the channel member’s expenses to be reimbursed, its ads cannot contain an advertised price (if any) lower than that specified by the supplier. "

Again, just my $.02
