DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp. is recalling 857,735 vehicles equipped with heated windshield wiper fluid system for a potential short circuit problem, according to federal safety regulators.

A short circuit in the system may cause other electrical features to malfunction, create an odor or cause smoke, increasing the risk of a fire, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on its website.

Talked to my dealer today. They will be ready to perform the recalls on/about November of this year

It won't be until the end of November that it could get cold enough around here to even use the heated washer fluid feature.

I use it from time to time to clean the bugs off the windshield while on trips. It seems to do a better job with the heated fluid than it does with it cold.
