Im looking at some body side emblems that were put on the side of this truck , anybody got a good pic of one, or even have a pic of there truck.

I found out the parts are no longer avalible from gm except from dealers old stock.

Also someone fill me in on the truck , looks like there was also sapose to be a 5.7 version and a 4x4 version avalible i didnt know they did that, i just thought they were making there version of the 454ss truck in the mid 90's.

is anyone fixing any of these up or have they just kinda dwendled away from the hobby

wow ok i stand corrected. I also was doing some reasearch, its just that usally GMC or chevy will copy each others designs in some way , so did gmc make there version of the 454 truck with that motor in it? I see the sierra gt has that 5.7 but looks like they had intentions on making a clone of the 454ss truck but pulled back on the motor.

No,No 454 was available in the GMC Sierra GT.

The Sierra GT was also available in both an extended-cab and 4x4 versions.

Realy , see i cant find any info proving that. In the parts catalog i see you can get the 7.4l in a 2wd 1/2 ton but i cant say its not gmc or chevy.

either way its not like the 454 then was a amazing motor or anything but i was talking to someone about that here at work and we were all stumped too, so had to ask gm-trucks.com i know we would have some info here.

Yep,The "454SS" trucks were Chevrolet's only,built from '90 to '93,and only in regular-cab short-bed 2wd models. That was the only way to get the 454 in a 1/2-ton truck.

Yeah both of those sites either are useless or dont have anything to do with the question at hand. The first site is for older gmc trucks realy 59 and back and the other site i couldnt figure out but looks like some sort of pontiac site..lol

Anyway just thought this was funny and had to share, even though we have already figured this one out.

Well,You can still find them....however its hard to find one that hasn't been all "beat-up",abused,or molested with a bunch of aftermarket parts (Cowl Hood,Stereo/Speakers,Exhaust)

I like to find one myself thats totally "bone stock"
