Pops In Reverse Before The Engine Is Fully Started

My wife does it all the time. I am tired of yelling. Its a 04' Yukon w/ 5.3L

She turns the ignition and immediately pops in Reverse before the engine

even have a chance to idle.

Is this bad? I figure there isn't enough time for the transmission pump to

get any oil or pressure in the transmission yet. And, I know it needs pressure

to engage the gears. But, what about the rest of the parts. There's no oil

to lubricate it yet. Forcing into Reverse when the engine is starting can't

be good. Am I right?

I'm glad she's not my wife. Does she also immediately hit the gas to back out? Or does she at least let it hit idle in gear before she stomps it?

What other abusive things does she do to that poor Yukon?

I figure its not good for the transmission at all. I notice 1st to 2nd doesn't shift like it

use to. There is a slight delay sometimes. There is a few other things the wife does

that drives me nuts, too. (like catching the curb on a turn and her finger nail scatches

on the radio buttons.) I know, the poor Yukon. I am tried of yelling. I think its might

be time for a replacement and I don't mean the truck.

lifes too short. Give her the 04 Yukon and you drive the new truck. Some people get it and some don t. She don t. My wife usually gets it after I complain a few times with things like this.

Have you done a fluid/filter change on it yet? I'm sure it needs it if you haven't

That drives me nuts when I see people do that. I'll be sitting in my truck (giving it about a minute) to idle before I head home, and I watch this woman get into her camry and not 1 second after her ass hits the seat does that car start to back out. Is everyone in such a hurry they can't wait 30 seconds before they drop in R and punch it? Then I looked down at the bumper/rear 1/4 of her car as she exits the parking lot and I see a collection of dings and dents. Case closed.

Well, in her defense, it is just a Camry. I have dings and dents in my toaster at home and I don't give a shit. :D

Well I figure I will say something a couple of times (no more than that).... and when the transmission (or whatever...) falls out of the Impala... then the car is in the shop for a big repair bill and out of commission for awhile .. no preaching and no explanation will ever change the driving habits .. a car is supposed to GO! when you put the key in it... right? :D:lol:
