New Guy Looking For Parts

Recommended Posts

Well I'm looking to replace the outside door handles on my 82 Sierra. I bought a couple from Year One and went to have them put on. Well come to find out that they are needing some sorta screw to fit in the back of the handle and of course the handles did not come with them. Also there are some little clips that attach to the rods in the back of the handles that are needed as well. I'm not really sure where to look or what to ask for.

Any help in pointing me to the right place or parts would be great as I'm just starting out!

Thanks,

I work at a bumper to bumper parts store, and I'm pretty sure I know what clips you're talking about. I'm not there now but I'm sure if you go into a parts store (a REAL parts store like bumper to bumper/napa/carquest not Advanced and maybe Autozone) someone will be able to help you. As for the handle, there are a couple of things you can do. You can also get new handles from a parts store. We carry a brand called Dorman, and I've never been let down by their products. Then you can return the ones you bought. Or, you can contact the store or manufacturer about the missing hardware from your handles.

Hope that sheds a little light on your predicament.
