  1. I bought a X31 for this very reason alone, some things are easy to replace (rancho shocks) and some things are near impossible or crazy expensive to add after the fact... since the general public has swithced to truck market from SUVs and mini vans seems they are catering more and more to that segment with more of an an AWD vehicle vs a 4WD specific one.....
  2. tons here in LA and never even see a dirt road much less offroad......its a status thing if you really wanted a offroad capable luxury vehicle you could buy a base SLT or LTZ with all interior features and slap a KING/FOX 3.0 mid travel kit that would be much more capable for less money .....raptor shocks (least older ones) werent even really 2.5 and had a shock piston the size of bilstein 5100.....sure the new one is similar, its marketing and guarantee for fox to build 10,000 propietery shocks for ford at a reduced cost for production vehicle.....not the same as when you buy them in the aftermarket from either company but i guess the whole point is to have the raptor logo vs what the actual vehicle is capable of doing, lol manufacturers make vehicles for profit not for best performance....fairly easy to surpass OEM suspension
  3. pretty positive there is no difference between 20 and 21 trims......i think even my lights were good for previous years there are a ton of manufacturers for lights, i do believe LT now has an option for LED headlamps in 21 model if you get specific pkg
  4. just bought this truck......you have to understand OEM use best cost to profit ratio when outfitting these trucks, these shocks while relatively smooth are not meant for offroad as marketing suggest......these are pretty much bottom of barrel shocks but the X31 comes with features that would be tough to add on so its still a good package imo.......have to replace a set of shocks but we get a transfer case, tires, exhaust, some protection underneath is well worth the tradeoff..... just get a set of new boingers of your choice.....most any reputable companies shocks will be an improvement
  5. heard they were coming out with it but that it was suppose to be really mild version.....not to compete raptor or trx, which makes no sense since they have a TB already.....maybe they changed though
  6. i believe you can run lift springs with bilstein kit as well.....check out Eibach they make most of the springs for all the coilover/shock companies.....in conjunction with adj shock you can get bit more height without having to use highest settings on shock
  7. agreed.....i just bought JL audio C1 kits front and back with tweeters for dash.....same as you about $300 from crutchfield, dont have it installed yet but am sure it has to make significant improvement.....
  8. yeah bro....and start thinking about your differential as well
  9. this is what i am about to do, my speakers just came in today....look very nice and magnet is much bigger..... also they are suppose to work great without bose system, it seems like it has plenty of power just crappy speakers.......i had HD radio in my last truck and it was marginally better than what we have in elevation.....think any decent quality speaker will be big improvement and if you want even more throw an amp, sub or whatever you want.....stock speakers are pretty cheap
  10. anything can be done with enough time and money.......nothing is impossible
  11. if i got a smokin deal i would take it......am not super picky color person.....my Dad had a orange blazer in 70s converted to shortbed pickup....he had 6" lift and was done to the hilt, made 4WD mag and i loved that truck....i could do orange but not green (unless they really needed to offload it and then i would just wrap it, lol
  12. i had an RST and it did soften up after 2k miles or so.....really depends on what your looking for in ride quality, bilsteins might stiffen it up a bit but have more controlled feeling....most stock truck suspension has very little rebound dampening and thats where aftermarket companies shine, more controlled.......sometimes a stiff feeling can actually be because the shocks are too soft thus riding in a harsher part of the stroke and kick more (especially if there is no dampening to control the rebound)....rebound is control after the "hit" in suspension and compression is control at beginning of the "hit"......mostly anyways there are variables and crossover effects but in a nutshell thats basically what happens
  13. Crutchfield is great......they tell you exactly what you can use, you punch in your vehicle specifics and intentons and they spit out all the options you can use.....check them out JL C1 is direct replacement you can use for factory or with amp..... https://video.crutchfield.com/v/crutchfield-jl-audio-c1-series-car-speakers/225294977
  14. I just ordered this exact same setup from crutchfield today for my elevation...like $300....I dont need a stupid auido system... just want a clean sound and dont have to crank volume, i know you can get crazy with these things good to hear your happy and I dont even have the Bose, did you do it yourself or have it installed? and did you dynamat whole door or just where the speakers are?
  15. i will follow my 2500 and see where it ends up and for how much
  16. LOL, i just swapped a 2500 for another 1500 and it feels like a honda civic.....amazing how small my new elevation feels
  17. PLEASE BE CAREFUL right before they load usually works for me but i dont have to do it daily or even weekly.......heck even guys that work for me dont give a ****** sometimes loading tools.....I told them you pay for it if you mess it up.........MONEY is universal and everyone understands that very clear!.....
  18. Are there any available back up cameras for base elevation trim?.....just better resolution like HD GM has for conv 2 pkg......also what about the infotainment?, i know awhile ago there wasnt much but i would like upgrade infotainment but i dont need nav....just want radio and phone in the DIC like my 2500 had......I dont have SD card but have 8" i know i know should have just bought the conv 2 package but they weren't many available in trim i wanted when i purchased mine.....if i could have found one fairly close to me with same truck plus that pkg i would have spent the $1300 bucks and actually it would have been less cuz bucket seats come with that pkg and i paid $500 just for seats.....idk why GM stocks certain models that dont make any sense for customer but probably do make sense for profit on their end
  19. I had a 19 RST, 20 LT 2500 and now 21 GMC elevation and have to say my 21 seems most comfy out of all.....seems like bit more foam in the seat, not a ton but just bit more....definetly feels just bit more refined than my 19, idk if its true just seems that way
  20. yeah but way they move numbers around it can still may not be 100% accurate.....fluff up one end to cover another end...tells you what you think happened but may not be bottom line......they never seem to present numbers same way twice, lol....as long as it adds up in end all is good,
  21. pretty useless for me tbh.....am contractor and had one in my 2500, for tailgating and such not construction purposes
  22. I will get a set of something nice eventually and there is a dude in LA selling his Icons slightly used with UCAs but he wants too much (almost MSRP).... if Eibach emails me back and needs a truck for measurement, afree set out of deal that would work .....all these companies are like in 20 mile radius of one another funny enough
  23. seat base is too short....and the steering wheel blocks guages as well as brake pedal offset from gas pedal, i guess i am sucker for punishment cuz i just bought a GMC Sierra monday and they are a bit better but still.....in this day and age why is this difficult when older models were so comfy....
