"combined weight" Truck, trailer, gear, gas, LP, etc.....

My combined weight (fully loaded and ready to camp, plus family on board) is a right at 13k lbs (scale weighed on an actual trip @ 12,880 lbs). I was surprised to see similar numbers on what appears to be a much smaller camper. Our camper is full aluminum framed, but it's not really an "ultralight", as it has conventional Al studs/joists, 5/8 plywood floors, 3/8 ply roof, etc.

I had all three wet tanks full (120 Gallons x8 lbs) three ATV's, one dirt Bike, one Street Bike, food, dishes, and enough clothes to last two weeks for a family of four, and the bed of the truck was lined with foot lockers that were packed with gear. It is a 23 Ft (Box length) all aluminum structure toy hauler (which wieght more than standard travel type trailers) It is 26 ft tounge to bumper. The trailer weights just over 4 grand and the truck wieghts almost 5 grand so if you do the math the trailer and truck really only had about 3000 pounds of gear in it.

I will post picks of the wieght tickets....... It was a fun drive from NC to CA.....3128 miles.

That explains it. Pictures can be deceiving. You and I are at almost identical total weight.
