Did anyone find out if the GM-style switches or a rocker-style switch that matches could be purchased for this? I'd like to use the blank spot next to my adj. pedals/rear park assist switches......I suppose I could just cut a hole on the left side of the panel too...

Yea Id like to do this mod too, but would also like to use the factory switch so nothing looks out of place. This is a great mod!

You'll need to check an electrical diagram to see if any switch in that cluster would be suitable for this application.

Techs?

Yeah, and I mean a switch that will mount and look stock, not necessarily re-purposing one I already have. I would like to add a rocker in the middle of the dash by the pedal adj. and the rear sonar turn off buttons in the leftover blank spots I have....those blanks only remind me of all the cool stuff I'm missing. :P

Parts guys?

I have a 2011 and you can turn on the cargo light without the dome light. There is a switch that turns off the dome light and leaves the cargo light on.

OH YEAH! I forgot about that lol!

My 2011 makes everything come on even with the dome override pushed in. Weird.

I installed the LED lights into my cargo light and oh my gosh are they a thousand time better! I also did interior lights at the same time and they look great too. I can't understand why people like Putco sell interior light kits for 150 plus when the bulbs are actually very cheap. I will post pics when it gets dark again.....

dlewis1111,

Would you be so kind to list the p/n's needed to do the interior, cargo, and back-up bulbs from that site that you ordered yours from?

Thanks,

-John

John,

I got all mine from here

http://www.gorecon.com/index.php

They have a complete set for the domes, there part number is 264162.. they are 10mmx31mm 212-2 bulbs. The cargo lights and third brake lights are 921.Make sure when you get the 921 bulbs that the LEDs are on the sides of the bulb and not just the tip.

you want this style

2011 guys- what are you doing to allow the cargo lamp to come on without interior lights? I have the dome override button and that will turn off the domes for when doors are open or when you unlock the truck but if I turn the dimmer knob all the way to turn on the cargo lamp the domes come on too, no matter what position the override is in. I'd like to be able to use the cargo light without having to do any of this wiring stuff- I'm totally blown away that GM ditched the cargo lamp button my 03 had.

Bringing this back from the dead.

Like asked above, I'm assuming this switch disallows the cargo lights from coming on when you unlock the doors, correct? There should be a way to wire a switch without cutting the wire from the BCM to the junction box, retaining the normal cargo light function.
