Can anyone elaborate on this? I sent zone an email asking about it, no response yet... If you cant tow with the 3" BL then I wont be installing it.

I know alot of guys have this kit, wondering if they have had any problems with towing.

You can't tow with your bumper because "LEGALLY" they're saying that the lift brackets for the bumper are not strong enough for a heavy load, but if you don't screw with your 2in. receiver when you raise your bumper, you can still tow with it just fine.

It only means you can't tow off the bumper itself. The factory receiver should be fine. Their brackets which hold the bumper aren't made to carry any type of load.

Exactly.

Some trucks come WITHOUT a hitch and the bumper is used for towing, light loads though. If you install a body lift on a truck that doesn't have a hitch, you can no longer use the bumper for towing.

So if you have a hitch, you're good to go. Your towing abilities WILL NOT be affected.

good to hear, i knew you guys would be able to clear it up.

thanks guys. i think i have decided to go with the 1.5" zone kit, as i dont think i will be able to fit my truck with the 3" BL and larger tires in my garage

I would really double check this before making that decision. I went with a 1.5" BL and I'm kicking myself for not going 3". Plan on gaining around five inches, that is 3" for the BL and around 1-2" on tires. If you go to a true 33x12.5 I would say 2" to be safe. If you have a 7' door, it should fit no problem. The shark fin is deceiving.

EDIT: Saw in your sig this is going on with a Rancho and I see what you are saying. That probably won't fit with at 3".

I received a reply from Zone today:

"Hey Jarett,

That note only applies to guys using the bumper as their tow point. If you are using a hitch, that is not affected by the bumper relocation system because it is bolted separately to the frame. This same thing goes for the 1.5" body lift. Thank you for your interest.

I am not 100% set on a suspension lift at this point, im just looking for a little extra lift and some new tires, and will probably upgrade to the suspension lift down the road...seems like everyone wants to go bigger and bigger!

i just need to fit it into the budget with a 5 week trip to Europe coming up...

May as well get the 3" then. The more bigger lifted trucks you see and park next to, the more and more your truck will start to look stock.

i just checked and have about 8" clearance from my fin to garage roof

if i go with a suspension lift, it will be the 5" RCX or rancho (rancho 4" measures 5"), add a 1.5" body lift and an extra 1.2" of tires, minus the 2" front level, i will be close!!
