Rain Water Splash

Has anyone noticed on the NBS that when it is raining or your hood is wet for whatever reason and you drive down the road for a bit (50-60 mph) and slow down (25-30 mph) how the water sprays on the windshield? Is this just my truck? I don't have a Bug Shield (maybe thats it or maybe not), and if you haven't noticed it before try it out--spray some water on the hood and drive down the Hwy a bit and watch the water pool up on the hood near the windshield and when you slow down the water runs down and when it gets to the front edge of the hood it sprays the windshield.

lol yes ive noticed this on mine. and mine also does it with a bug deflector on.

I've noticed watter puddling on the hood, but haven't seen it splash on the windshield. But I turn on the wipers when it's raining so I don't notice it splash on the windshield.

I have noticed it on my car also. Pretty sure it is from the water reaching the front of the hood and the air that is being pushed upwards after hitting the grill causes the water to spray up.

Yes, I've noticed that too. And last winter, ice clear down by the grille was blowing back up and hitting the windshield!

And my truck gets bugs on it when I drive it at night. Gm really needs to step it up.

Mine does the rain thing too. Never really been bothered by it. In my brother's Ranger we noticed an even more weird aero-trick- we were driving along and an acron dropped from a tree, falling in front of the hood. It dropped out of sight but air currents pulled it back up, over the hood and it smacked the windshield. No damage, just real weird/fun to watch.

i never noticed it. i have rainx, so the water spends a fraction of a second on the windshield anyway

You are not alone! When I make the first stop sign after my house( with the truck clean and dry just after washing) water from the front grill area sprays all over the windshield. Weird aerodynamic thing I guess.
