Thinking About Selling My Truck

Well, like my topic said, I'm thinking about selling my truck. I really don't want too, but the problem is I'm still paying on my truck, where I bought my car, I really don't have any extra money to spend on anything. I owe about $10,000 left on it. I still owe 19 on my car. So I really don't know what to do, but I got a '99 Jeep Cherokee for work/beater/winter. I LOVE my truck, but sometimes you just gotta let things go on life, . If I sell my truck, I'm keepin my rims/tires, taking the subs out, I guess my BlackBear tune or just leave it in there?

Once I get my car paid off, (If I sell my truck) I'll probably get another truck. A GMC Sierra Denali 1500 which has the 6.2 in it and I make sure I get the SLT version, which, is the same as the LTZ in Chevy's I think?

I would love to keep both of my car and truck, right now. I can make both payments, but I have no room for anything to else to buy. Gas and groceries bills, kills me a lot too. Oh yeah, damn insurance too.

So can anyone help me out or what I should do? I greatly appreciate it, if so.

I feel your pain man!

If you have to sell one, i'd get rid of the truck... that's a sweet G8 you have there and they're only going to get harder to come by. Plus, like you said, you can always get another truck later and get one with the 6.2L in it. You definitely owe less than the truck is worth, so sell it and pay off a big chunk of the car with the equity.

If I were in that situation, I'd have to keep the truck.....but only because I need a dependable vehicle to tow my camper....I would not tow with a "beater". But, if I didn't need to tow anything, then the truck would go, and the beater would be for the winter....gotta go into survival mode in this economy....just my opinion

I would sell the jeep and the car then put the money on the truck towards the pay off, if you get rid of the truck you will be sorry because you like it so much as it will be in your mind all the time. You can do a whole lot more with the truck then the car and only have 1 vehicle on your insurance policy.

I agree 100% with Matt. It's your best option.

Thanks man, I was leaning that way, anyways. You think I should keep my rims/tires?

Do you have a set of stock wheels/tires?

The truck will seriously be worth more stock... might want to consider taking out the RC kit as well.

Then you can sell the RC kit and wheels/tires separately (if a younger guy buys your truck, offer them to him AFTER you sell it.. otherwise he may tell you to throw them in to make the deal  )

Since you owe more on the car, that's what I'd sell. I don't like G8's though so my opinion is not bias free. Just because the G8 may be coming harder to come by doesn't mean it's worth anymore. Sell which ever you like least in all seriousness.

Sounds like you didn't get the truck you wanted so maybe sell what you got and upgrade.

He may only owe 10k on the truck... but the used truck market is good right now so he'd probably get closer to 20k for it. With the difference he could pay down the G8 loan.

Not sure what used G8's are going for, break even?

Say he sells the truck for 19k, then uses 9k of that to pay down the loan on the G8... the result will be 10k owed.

BUT

Say he sells the G8 and breaks even for 19k, then the result is still the 10k he owes on the truck.

Note, i have no clue what either of these vehicles used car values are at right now... im just throwing in some "G8 love" bias :)

Since he owns one already, im sure he's a fan of the car as well. Might as well get rid of the truck now since it sounds like it'll be traded down the road regardless for an upgrade with the 6.2L and more options.

Yes, I have the stock tires and wheels in the garage, with a brand new tires already on them. I'll probably just leave the RC kit on there? Keep my rims and tires for my next truck purchase!

The truck is worth like avg of 16K right now, has 130K on it. but in great shape!

Also, I love my G8, best 1/4 time is 13.4 More upgrades for it are coming

I would just sell the truck and put the money towards the car. When the car is paid off I would buy another truck and maybe by then the new models will be out.
