Look back on your window sticker, below where you read about the 61% was made in us or canada, and 39% was made in mexico,it should say "FOR THIS VEHICLE: FINAL ASSEMBLY POINT:" It says right under there "COUNTRY OF ORIGIN:" and it will list both the engine and transmission and where they came from.

Yeah because being built in the states there can be no mistakes made right? :)

especially when the processes are the same no matter what plant they are produced in.

With exception of the GM Avalanche all trucks (full size) are assembled in the USA but more important is that GM & Ford are the only home based (USA) companies. Home based companies pay taxes and invest in the USA more so than a foreign based company. Bottom line is more jobs and taxes paid in the USA not Japan,China or Korea.

Thanks for buying an American product and saving jobs.

I don't guess now would be a good time to tell you that a BUNCH of parts on the truck came from China?

I second the motion of USA Home based companies.... It puts more money back in our ECONOMY and our economy needs refueling..... Yea, the other guys have plants here but the profits from those companies go bye bye from the US....

How much labor profit is made on a new vehicle... It takes a pretty good while to build a new vehicle, just assembling the parts and it takes a pretty good many people.

And don't get me started on Taxes............

most things are not built or made here in the US anymore, we import way way more then we export...america isen't a factory driven countrie anymore like it was decades ago we are going towards a "service based economy" i am all for buying american products and supporting american jobs buts its impossible to find a 100% american made/assembled product anymore...but it is very true, buying products from american owned companies does boost our economy and it does fuel the job market, the main r,eason foreign companys put factorys on american soil is to avoid import taxes, high labor costs(like we do with mexico) and to ease the strain on shipping so their supply stays on par with demand...but they don't tell consumers that, they just sugar coat it with "we are building a factory here to create jobs" then they slap "american made" on it...so if i have klingons assemble my new furniture set does it make it klingon made?

I know for a fact that license plate light lenses are made in

China and sun visors are made in Mexico. So are steering wheels. So are door clips. In fact I have not bought one genuine GM spare part for my truck yet that was made in the USA. :)

However, the price tag would lead you to believe that they were made in Switzerland by Rolex.
