Forum Sections That We Don't Have Yet, But Should....

Looking for some ideas for after the software upgrade. Forum sections that we don't have yet, but should...

I think we have the tech sections pretty well covered. The biggest thing I'd like is Tapatalk support. A political section can be good if everyone agrees to play nice or in the very least, leave debates/issues in that forum and be good to each other in the other sections.

Yes an accessories section and maybe a section for Diesels.

Yes to Tapatalk and to a mobile version. At a minimum, Tapatalk will be active later this week.

 

Accessories forum is a good idea.

 

I'd be willing to consider a very limited politics section but it's never worked out well in the past so I can't promise anything.

 

Would an IT/Computer section be a good thing to add? For computer advice, et cetera.

 

I'm also floating model specific sections (Silverado/Sierra, Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade, and more..) and turning the current forum sections into general cross platform sections. Thoughts?

Glad to hear Tapatalk support will be added, I use it on other forums and love it for phone use.

i personally think that its great now, but there somehow should be a GMT400 talk section, GMT800 talk section, and GMT900 section. it would be very nice to always click on a post knowing its about the style of truck you have.

 

i agree with whoever said diesel section, the few diesel guys we have would probably like the diesel section and the new members who have diesels will feel more at home

I would personally vote against a politics section. I come here to get away from that bs and the more I tell myself I will not click on the political topics that pop up the more my curiosity takes over....

 

Though I am only one person.

 

I think an actual app would be awesome rather than a simple mobile site.

I'll use my phone for calling and texting.

 

Politics...I'm on the fence. Would be nice to talk rational about things, but it usually ends up with name calling and personal attacks. Would need a ton of moderation and may result in bad feelings over things we aren't here to talk about.

Many things could be taken as a political statement nowadays though.

Roofer, that is exactly how it can be done- another forum I visit you have to apply to be in the section and if you take it beyond reasonable debate you're out.

Roofer, I like Home Improvement/DIY, maybe even a small business section would be popular too! What about a Camping/Camper section?

 

We'll also be adding a "Supporting Member" only lounge...

How about a "Working Trucks " area. I don't mean toyhaulers and rv's. I'm mean a spot for people who use their trucks to make a living.
