Aluminum vs steel blocks

What is the difference between steel and aluminum rear axle blocks. i have heard good and bad about both, but what would you use.

I have only ever used steel. Not sure I would use aluminum, maybe billet would be ok but still think the steel is stronger.

aluminum blocks would crumble in a full size truck carrying any heavy load, or any serious off roading. steel blocks are the way to go. make sure they have a tapered top

  Ha!! So GM Customer service, ive already been talking with someone on your email team and there is nothing they can do. So pretty consistent with everyone else’s experience- you can do NOTHING.. worthless emails. Sure glad i have 4 GM cars on our family cuz now its clear you dont care.. Sad and pathetic.
