Just read this whole thread and it only makes me even more excited! Just joined the club with a '12 SLT xc with the max trailer pkg. Can't wait to get my hands on it! Thanks for all the info guys, one more day to go!

Love the sound of mine at startup also. I'm usually remote starting the truck as I'm walking out to it, after work, and I've gotten many, many compliments from co-workers all with pretty much the same question shortly after or before they hear it, "What the hell is in that thing?" Blown 540 big block is my favorite response. LOL!

On another note, pulled down 13.8 mpg on E-85 this weekend, unloaded, but 10.8 with my two place enclosed snowmobile trailer on the back with one sled in it. Best unloaded mileage I've had so far on E-85 and by god does she like to pull that trailer on that stuff, yee haw!

I need someone to upload a video of my truck running 0-60, I have had no luck in doing this and need a helping hand.

Thanks

I'm new to the site, but I gotta tell you it's amazing how some dealers try to sell you what they have and not what you want. But then you find the one that knows you won't take less! I got my silver ice metallic LTZ CC with 6.2L NHT Saturday. It took less than 5 weeks from order to delivery. And it is awesome! It looks very tame but I know it won't be. But I didn't buy it for racing, just towing, boat or travel trailer. The break-in period will seem like forever. Especially since I'm going out of town Wednesday for a couple of weeks. Oh well, patience!

I've said it before and I'll say it again...........

Driving these 6.2l 1/2 ton trucks is like dieting, for me. I have as much trouble keeping my right foot out of it so that it gets good gas mileage as I do keeping myself from eating too many nice, big, jucy burgers with an order of fries. Maybe it just isn't meant to get good gas mileage and I'll always be overweight, who knows.

I will say this though, quitting smoking after 18 years, was easier than both of those issues, for me lol.

I'll post a pic after my A.R.E. cover and flaps come in and are installed.

Bought mine in Jan. and the only thing done to it so far is a window tint. It pulls better stock than my old 07 Vmax which had a CAI and catback, and this one is much quieter. Question: I have only run 87 to 89 octane so far, is there really a difference in hp and mpg worth running 92? Throttle response via drive by wire is still horribe too.

Never ran anything less than 92 octane so I can't tell you personally but I'm sure that I've heard around here from other guys how horrible their 6.2's ran on anything less than premium fuel. It calls for premium or ethanol so that is all I run. With the compression ratio and camshaft profile that this engine is running, and being a veteran engine builder, I know that it has the ability through the ecm to pull timing and keep the engine "safe" on low octane fuel but that's not what the engine needs so I don't run it.

Had some smart ass kid chirp away from a stoplight in his brand new "boss" Poopstang this morning, on my way to the gym. Needless to say as he was running it out hard so I let the 6.2 eat and matched him door handle to door handle for a few blocks before we hit the next light. I love the looks on their faces when I do that. :rollin:

poopstang... LOL!!

dealer filled mine up with 87 so I am burning through it as fast as I can so I can put in some premium.

I've got others.......LOL.Besides, I'm sure (the numbers documented confirm it, actually) that he'd kill me in a 1/4 mile but stoplight to stoplight he couldn't shake me.

See, that's BS. I busted my dealer's behind to make sure that they delivered it to me with premium fuel in it. Now, whatever they put in it to deliver it to me, no idea but it did show up in my driveway with full tank of Shell 93 in it.
