I have all of that besides boreing the engine

and this

I have no idea what alot of that means . Basicaly maybe someone could go threw all of those part and tell them what they mean if they want that would be cool .

What year is your truck? I'd never go from fuel injection to a carb'd engine.

2005

with 74,000 km . Basicaly a new truck still. Its worth nonthing anymore so basicaly going to keep it . This just seemed or might not be to much of a costly mod for basicaly 30 more hp and 15 more torque I could be totaly wrong tho. I like my little 1500 silverado 5sp its not that powerful but it can take a couple atvs up some gravel road . or a small boat on some lake and camping gear. I know i wont be towing anything big and I am fine with that . Its a easy truck to drive to . Most likely I probely wont touch the engine tho . This is going to be my 2nd vehical when I can aford a new truck . I am hoping to get a good deal on the 2012s when the new 013s come out on a new 4x4 1500 silverado.

You won't be happy with the trade offs that come with losing fuel injection. Not to mention in most US states a swap like that would violate emissions laws.

I think I have to do some big self educating on my self to understand what a cam actually is besides skimping on wiki what it is and why cant you have a cam and fuel injected .Most I am going to have to read what fuel injected is to. I guess . I was thinking this cam thing was just some metal timeing thing that was part of the fuel injected thing . So what are those older engines with the big filter things on them is that part of a cam set up ?

becuase i always thought those were a carbatore thing . Witch again i am not 100percent how those work . I thought somehow fuel injected engines replaced the carbatore engines . Well I know what i will be reading about now when i am boared .

you can cam anything. With fuel injection you have a the computer reprogrammed, carb you just tune the carb.Carb vs nowadays FI performance wise its damn near equal.I would personally drop in a 5.3L LM7 or a LQ4.You probably still wont be happy with the truck after all of the mods and money.

Every motor has a cam. It's the part(s) that synchronizes your intake and exhaust valving. When folks say "cammed", they just mean a non-stock cam. Do *not* go from fuel injection to a carb. Actually... since you're not sure what a cam is, don't touch the motor :)

All I touch is the air filter , windshield wash, check the oil, and change it and the filter and battery . Looked at the serpitine belt looks fine . The rest of the truck is just a magical contraction that works lol . The only up grade I might do is just some helper springs get my dad to help me or someone who knows what they are doing . and some better tires that can handle more weight

If you are looking at building a motor on a budget for the most power to cost ratio, go ahead and jump up to a V8 build. If you want the uniqueness of building the 4.3 then go ahead and proceed. I have had several trucks with the 4.3. They are a great motor. You can do some low budget bolt ons to get more out of them, but if you want lots of power out of them, you will be putting lots of money into it. I'm not saying that this is a bad build, but to make the same amount of power as a V8, it will cost you more.
