Washed the 'Burb, put CAI on, then went to MSRA Back to 50's car show (>10,000 cars), and now it needs to be washed again...

28 now, 29 next month. I trained myself in my single digit years to resist impulse purchases and set goals with my allowance from chores. 5 bucks a week took a long time to buy the next $50-60 Mario game or box of baseball cards so I guess that helped too.

When I first bought the house I was eating ramen 3 times a week. It was that or sell this:

I later did sell it, though, when I got married. It helped erase the wife's student loans, and took a chunk of the mortgage too.

It was a beast. Had a pro built 383 that was painted to look like a stock 350 block, and had some expensive ProTopLine heads, which were apparently so amazing the company was bought out by a big player soon after releasing them(what I was told in a Camaro forum when I asked about them).

Ryan, take note of this:

My only regret is I didn't drive it more.

Sweet ride, and congratulations on paying off the mortgage. It is a great feeling to get out from under that for sure.

I had a '69 back in the day, from '77-'82. I have always regretted selling it and replaced it in '86 with a IROC, which I still have 28 years later. Love it, and vowed to never get rid of another Camaro, but the old '69 was my first car. Maybe some day I will come full circle and own one again some day? I know one thing for certain, it will cost a whole lot more than the $4,000 it did for a brand new one in '69.

One of these days I need to dig out the pictures if the old'69, and get them converted over to digital. One of these days!

Thanks.

Im starting to miss that one, I've already started looking around online for another 69. Found a nice one that's looks like its still mostly original style(no modern add ons, and has been kept up well.) 4 speed, true SS codes, and the factory color. One thing I WILL do is have a Vintage Air system installed if I get another.

I was planning on just getting a new or nearly new ZL1, or maybe 1LE, but with the new body style one year out, plus the next super Camaro probably two years out, figured I might look to own a 69 again.

Sorry for all the typos, I was on my phone, and that thing has a mind of it's own. Still better than mine though?

Yeah, the '69 Camaro is, and has always been my favorite car. Only year they made that exact body style. Last Friday afternoon I saw a cherry Z28, black on orange.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, revs me up like a '69 Camaro in any configuration.

My dad had one. I rode around in it in my car seat when I was little. I remember that. Part of my fondness for a 69 RS. Holy shmoly the headlight door vaccum system was crap though. Mine had all new parts and barely ever worked, a guy at a first gen forum lived a few miles from classic industries, when there to buy the vaccum canisters. He had them bring out a bunch, tested them all with a vaccum pump he brought. 4 in a row didn't work, said he felt bad for us guys that had to go through one at a time and the shipping

My dad sols his Indy sold it for 4K in the early 90s. He still knows the guy he sold it to, who still has it. He has a slight grimace every time I show him one for sale(since they are all over 40K in decent condition, 50k for good, and 60-70 for excellent)
