That'll teach that damn pole to lay around in the way. :D

Wait you're implying that hitting things while backing isn't normal?  How do y'all know when to stop?  I keep going until my hitch hits the concrete wall, pole, tree, or hill behind me.  :)  I've bent a few fences that way at work, they should just have more fence poles so I hit those instead of in between them where I bend the fence back.

Getting old marginally beats the alternative.

My son distracted me. Oh well no damage caused made one helluva noise though plus I made the parking area longer pushing it in lol

And they wonder why back up cameras are mandatory in all vehicles as of May 2018 lol.

I can’t get in the habit to use the back up camera. Spent most of my life getting by without them. I’ll sometimes look before I backup. 90 percent of the time my first move is forward. I just park that way.

Funny, I'm the same way.  However, I miss the camera when I'm driving a vehicle without one!  If I had a choice, I'd prefer a front bumper view camera over a rear view.  Backing into a space I can pinpoint exactly when I'm at the point of contact.  Nose first is not nearly as precise!

I used one today in a '16 Cruze - thing already had the money light on with just 45k on the clock. 4 codes for a bad PCV valve, which, of course, is part of the entire valve cover. What a joke. But I digress ...

I liked having the camera there. Using that with the other 3 mirrors, there's no way you could hit anything. I did notice that it's pretty useless when backing over 10mph though - looks like you're going 70mph - things happen way too fast for it to be useful.

I get by just fine using just the mirrors on my 2  25+ year old vehicles, and my '07 Silverado.

I wish my Duster had a back up camera. The drivers door mirror is basically for show on those cars, you can barely see past the ole girls hips. There is no passenger side mirror and the rear view in the middle is good for seeing the car a few lengths back, but sucks for backing up.

My 91 C2500 is great for backing up, those old trucks are like sitting in fish bowls compared to the blind spots in the new trucks.

And I use the mirrors in the 2017 to back up for the most part, but I find the camera works wonders for lining up to the trailer and when backing up those last final inches. The camera also works great for backing out of parking spots. Theres a few streets around me with angled parking and the camera lets me see what coming down the road when I can see past the SUV or van beside me.

Neighbor's '06 Impala is the same way - WORST rearward visibility I have ever seen in my life. I thought he was hitting things just because he's 86 ... until I drove it myself..

A lot of times I can't see car roofs either, truck's butt is high up plus the tool box I have in the bed.  My favorite is when I come out and the car behind me has hit me.  Especially the newer cars with plastic bumpers, when I pull out I hear those bumpers POP back out haha.  I believe having a rear view camera has made me worse at parking.  Seems like I pay less attention and rarely get backed in in 1 try anymore.  Then again with the dually I have to be a bit more precise than I did with my 2500s.

Traction control and smoother ride. Also a reminder on how weak I am. I have a couple friends that think they will be good for exercise so I picked them up a tire each. 54cb93c734baf0938c01022570c4efe8.jpg
