my buddy alix put an LS 6.0 in a Colorado just recently, it is so ridiculous :lol:

Think about those Flyin Miata's. They are putting the LS376/525 in them. They say it beats a Z06 from 30-70 by over 7 seconds.

I bet they could put a lift on too for ya.

I repaired a Miata last year here. I'm 5 friggin foot 4, and I could barely fit in the thing, HAHAHAA! After the fix, I wound her up to 7k rpm going up the road here - went pretty good for a 1,300 cc motorcycle engine under the hood, lol.  That thing would be my kind of car with a 376 under the hood! :thumbs:

In other news, my buddy's 740 RWHP '10 Camaro is having some issues. Lost an idler pulley for the supercharger, and there's some evil sounds coming from the engine and drivetrain. Strange how all this happened at the same time. Could just be an exhaust leak from bottoming out (thing is like 3" off the ground - a BAD idea in MA with our shit roads), but sounds like a u-joint self-destructed. He's still running the 2-piece driveshaft, since everyone says the one-piece makes ALOT of vibration. He may go the 1-piece route after this failure.

Anyway, my whole point of all of that, was that we tried to load it onto my flatbed trailer this afternoon, so I could haul it to Jannetty Racing in CT tomorrow AM, but his front air dam hit my ramp before the wheel even got close! It's THAT low. Looks great, but what a pain in the ass. We tried putting sections of 2x6 lumber in front of the ramps, grabbed some chunks of broken pavement (that should be the MA state rock ...), and aired up my airbags to 100 psi ... and STILL couldn't get the car on. He destroyed that fiberglass air dam he has on there. Was a total waste of time, and now he's got to spend an hour trying to remove the stupid thing. Guess there's some nuts up underneath that you can't even see ... and once you remove the bolts, the nuts go flying, and you can't get them back into place without dismantling half the front end. 21st Century engineering for ya ...

Once he gets that air dam off, I'm going to back my truck up onto a set of metal ramps I have, so that my trailer tail is touching the pavement - that should get us up on the trailer. I'll do the same thing when we get to CT to unload it.

First world problems!!

Look at my truck's ass - the thing is JACKED like a 70's hot rod with 100 psi in the bags.

Did a resonator delete on a 2018 Mustang, 5.0 Coyote today.

Pretty impressive car. Has little butterfly valves in each muffler that change from completely closed (quiet), to wide open, depending on which of the 5 driving modes you choose. Track mode opens them wide, stiffens the suspension to the max, and puts out over 500  HP to the ground. Most comfortable seats I've ever sat in! Loudest STOCK vehicle I have EVER heard - sounds GREAT! Has little projectors on each mirror that make a Mustang emblem hologram on the ground when you open the doors. Has LED lighting EVERYWHERE in the interior, in every nook and cranny, that can change from like 10 different colors. Even the sill plate lights up the letters of MUSTANG in whatever color you choose. Pretty impressed with the effort that went into designing this thing. Looks like they got everything right! That's saying alot coming from me - I hate modern cars.

Only complaint I had was the cheap, crap, weaker than a beer can metal they used as an anchor the exhaust valve wiring harness' on each muffler - feels like you're going to tear it off like a pull-tab when you need to remove the christmas tree fastener from it, to remove the exhaust system.

That delete made the car twice as loud, too. Sounds friggin great!!

Just spent the last hour editing a video of the sound ... and the friggin file is too big!  I'll see if I can get it on Youtube ...

You basically just described the options from a 2016 Camaro 2SS. mustang was a little late to the party on a few things, except the sill lettering, Camaro only lights up in white. And no puddle lights(although Europe gets power folding mirrors on their Camaro). But we get like 20 different colors so there!

And they don't put down over 500HP unless they have a healthy mod list. Stock crank HP is 460 I believe, so what does that thing have on it?

I'm not up on anything built the past 11 years. Not interested in any of it, since I spent most of my day fixing all of the factory's cost-cutting brainstorms ...

The 'Stang is all stock aside from the resonator delete we just did. I was just going off what my buddy told me. He's not a huge car guy - he just likes Mustangs and has the income to buy what he wants. I never did look at the numbers on the Coyote. It's a 6-speed though, which I thought was great - thought those had been put out to pasture, along with all chrome parts,  by the new generation ...

I did manage to get a Youtube vid up. What a friggin pain in the ass!! Now I have a huge respect for all the channels I watch. I just did a tiny 7 second sound clip, and it took me 2 hours to get it posted, and I still don't have the video I wanted (wanted to include pics of the stock system in the vid, and of the cut out resonator). Editing software is INFURIATING!!!  I'm much better off under the hood of something 50 years old than dealing with all this computer shit!

Thing sounds friggin great though!

As usual, better weather down South! Overcast here most of the day. Sun just starting to occasionally peek out now. :sigh:

Finally got my lift bolted down this afternoon, and installed the top brace. Blew my back out when I lifted, and then set down the hydraulic motor wrong. Now I'm walking like a 90 year old man. Time for the 151 proof aspirin ...

Driving home from breakfast after work this morning and a bird decided to fly into my truck. Now I need a new headlight assembly. Are non GM ones any good, thinking I'll just fork out double and get OEM. I'm surprised the fender isn't dented. IMG_20180616_070952.jpeg

The GM ones are a cheap design to start with ... then factor in aftermarket cost cutting, and you've got a real piece of crap. Just my .02. Best bet would be a junkyard, if you can find one in reasonable condition.

I hit a robin the other day. She bounced off the A-pillar near the windshield, and was unconscious on the side of the road. I went by a couple hours later, and she was gone - must've just rung her bell good.

Today I got my brothers 2000 Audi A4 wagon 1.6T started.  It's been sitting for months with a sporadic starting issue- cranks but won't fire up.  It's gotten worse over time.  I suspect a weak fuel pump with 160,000 miles on it.  it fired up after jumping it today, which was good.  Drove it around a bit.  Plates are expired by 4 months so it's not legal.  We decided to park it over at my mom's place in the driveway to keep my brother's HOA off his back.  They are deciding what to do with it.  The cluster digital display is out, ABS light on, Air Bag light on, cracked windshield, burned out passenger side power window (up, thankfully) windshield, broken hood latch and grill, body is straight but some paint fade on the roof and hood.  interior is in great shape.  Engine leaks a bit of oil but still has power and tranny shifts smoothly.  Has new tires.  In order to sell privately here in Colorado we have to have emissions test done prior to sale.   I think it will pass, we just need to get thru the gas that has been sitting in there since last year, and I want an oil change done on it.  They have no need for it and would like to get some $$$ from it.  They are thinking about taking it to Car Max to see what they will give him for it.

Drove him around today :D

Recently I've replaced the headlight guards. I was much more careful putting these on, and they turned out very nice. Replaced the windshield due to a fairly big chip right above my line of sight. Quite happy with that.

Dynamatted the back of the HVAC control panel, threw a square on the back of the navigation unit, and up above the overhead console in an effort to eliminate some rattles and quell that odd mirror vibration that only occurs in V4 mode under load. Rotated the tires recently too.

Fuel mileage is improving, must be the summer blend. Lifetime average is up to 18.8 mpg. Not bad for a 6.2L!

Clyde is a happy camper. Which in turn, means I am as well :D
