For pistols you need to get a purchase permit from the county sheriff. I don't think they cost anything, it just allows them to do a background check on you. Once issued, it's good for ten days then the pistol gets registered with the state police. There is legislation in the senate now to eliminate the purchase permit and the registry BS and just use the 4473 form.

Over the weekend I put the pistols that I think registering is stupid into my truck and drove to the range to shoot then put the pistols that have no business being registered back in my truck and drove home.

Today I had the tires rotated and a 265/70R17 tire put on the junkyard wheel I picked up for a spare. It came with a LT245/70R17E. Just trying to prep for my 12 hour drive to Utah on thursday

Took my truck to the dealer to have the side steps looked at beacuse the chrome was starting to tarnish really bad around the plastic pads.

They agreed to replace them under the accesory warranty, even let me take the new ones home today and swap them out myself.

Today I drove to a customer site in Illinois, a state that also has shitty, useless gun laws judging by the amount of violence in Chicago. And I miss my pistols that are back home which also happen to stupidly be registered to comply with stupid, useless Michigan laws.
