I went to the local golf cart shop last night to get new head light bulbs for the golf cart. Then this morning I took the truck over to the car wash on base and spent about 15 minutes blasting as much dirt and mud out from the undercarriage. Still plenty left in there but the 6" deep pile of much is showing some progress.

Grandma had an old door without the safety sensors, and years back I hit the remote to open it as I pulled in and she happened to have already opened it to back out. She ended up with a nickel sized dent in the roof of her Civic. She wasn't too happy with me for a bit.

I taped the safety sensors together, facing each other, and placed them on top of the motor on the side with the new door. Hate those damn things. I installed the opener back in '03 when we moved in. Tried and tried to defeat those sensors, but that company sure doesn't want you to do that.

I have to hit the button in the truck, then walk out the closing door ... otherwise I have to dig through my pile of keys to lock the 2 locks on the side door. In the summer, the door and jambs swell, making that task a pain in the ass. Much easier to just lock the door from inside, then escape while the door is closing. Stupid sensors wouldn't let me do that. Apparently lawyers have had their way with garage door opener manufacturers ...

The other door's opener is a 30+ year old Alistair unit. Chain driven & indestructible. Not a safety device to be found on that one. :)

New garage door. It is real nice. Very smooth and quiet unlike the old one. Kinda glad I took it out

Wow that door is HUGE! Must've been a 2-man job I bet. Looks great though.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I think led bulbs from a quality bulb marker, in stock taillights would be much more reliable.

My stock tail lights are trashed

Used the truck to rent a stump grinder to grind one stump at my house and four at my parents. Made a rainy crappy day into a very productive one.

That's something I haven't used in a long time. My joy-riding days are over, so I don't need one as much as I used to. Had a 2 page driving record back in the day ... WITH a detector! I can only imagine what it would've been like without it. Probably 3x as much. Thing paid for itself 100x over.

I was one of the only guys to have one on a motorcycle back then too. I used that industrial velcro and stuck it right on the tank. Can see it in the pic - the thing is huge by today's standards. Any time I parked it, I could tear it off and carry it with me. I still have this one in my stash of junk somewhere ... and it STILL works! Made an ear-piercing shriek that you could hear plain as day at any speed, helmet and all. When I sold the bike, the sticky-tape on the velcro peeled right off with a fingernail.
