Smoked taillights on a black GMC.

Yes the only trim on the truck left black is the front valance, but that may all change. I'm really wanting to go for a Denali look and if I do I will paint the bumpers and go back to black HD step pads on the bumper. Still undecided on what to do with the tailgate handle and tailgate pad if I do that though bc I really don't like black plastic, but feel painted bumpers and step pads will be too much :/

$8 is more like $30 when you figure, good clear coat, wet sanding paper, compound, polish, good glass cleaner to remove oils, waxes ect before shooting, not to mention your time and labor. $125 isn't out of line if you got the cash to throw at it. I myself just enjoy that kind of stuff and doesn't piss the wife off near as bad when I save money on DIY mods. As far as comparing my VHT 2 years later to anybody who had theirs shot professionally, bring them on because mine still look new and appear to be made that way, but I did It the correct way, right prep, shot them around this edges back to the inside so they won't peel from the edges ect.

My vht looks the as it did 3 years ago not 2 duh. I did the proper prep work. Booyah baby ;)

In my experience what really makes the difference in tinting tails is adding a nice coat of clear coat after the VHT nightshade.

Proper prep work and proper painting make all the difference. Spend the $8.00 UNLESS you can't do the work yourself, then you don't have a choice but to pay much more.

Not everyone wants black tail lights on their trucks for their own reasons. Personally I don't like all black tail lights and think 1-2 light coats of tint to knock the bright red out of them looks perfect. Not to mention some local police departments and state troopers like to ticket for all black tails versus just the ones that have been smoked...
