The awkward run-in...

I see. I can only say be happy in what you do and not happy in what others don't. I'm 37 so old compared to you at 22. I've got two college degrees, happily married with 3 kids, and a home that my wife and I custom built. I've got a good job and feel comfortable at where I'm at in life. But I would not find pleasure in knowing that any of my ex's are unhappy in life. At some point, I cared or even loved them. I would only wish the best for them too. It would make me sad to know that any of them were not doing well or unhappy with their lives. It may be easy for me to say that because I am older and that none of the relationships I had, ended with them doing me wrong or something like that. They were all pretty much mutual move ons, or at least I think so (so maybe some of them wish me ill will :) ).

So nothing wrong with you being happy at where your headed in life but don't look down or judge the ex. And thanks for your service to our Country.

Over all I agree with your statement. As long as the "Ex" didn't try to break your neck.

I am divorced and I can say that I have no nice feelings toward my ex-wife. And I loved and cared once for her.

It would be a lie to say that I don't feel pleasure in my outcome of the mess compared to hers.

Especially when I tried hard to tell her that it is not a good way she is going.

I've never felt awkward running into an ex. Not sure what you mean by, "I believe I won because I spent my time in the military got out and am in college." What competition did you "win"? I mean, you date somebody and it works and you get married or it doesn't and you move on. I've got no hard feelings or issues with any ex's.

I take it you have never been cheated on or had a psycho that stalks your every move after you end it.

Anyone ever have that awkward run I with someone and don't know what to do? I'm 22 and I just ran into my ex from my sophomore year of high school. She was at work at Target. We went thru the awkward exchanges of "oh how have you been?" She didn't age well. But then again I was walking with a cane. But yea it was awkward. I believe I won because I spent my time in the military got out and am in college.

You are 22, and you think she did not age well? It has only been about 6 years, and she completed puberty in that time. Wait till you see what happens in the next 20 years.

Can't say I have. I left the state for school less than a month after graduating high school and came back a year later and entered the workforce when everyone else was still away at college (NH has been bleeding young adults for some time now so most never came back). Living 25 miles from the school didn't help either (my town is small enough it did not have a high school). And now I'm a thousand miles or so away and don't know a soul here. Kind of nice after 27 years in a small town where everyone knows everyone and wants to know everyone's business. Or maybe I'm just weird for being happy being a nobody, who knows.

LOL.dude you said you are walking with a cane and say she didn't age well and she's in her 20's. Funny thing is she probably told her friends hey I say so and so and he looks so old and walks wit ha cane, glad I didn't get stuck with him.

Lucky you don't have hard feelings but you are still pretty young. Wait until some psycho chick can't get over the fact that you are no longer with her and follows you around and starts destroying your stuff. Nothing like seeing your truck spray painted with her name and your leather seats all cut up (I knew I was missing a spare key that time too).

I used to love seeing an ex show up at a party, especially without a boyfriend, that was like a Christmas gift for the party and after. Drink all night, then spend some "quality time" together the rest of the night, just like old times. Best part was, didn't have to worry about dealing with her again, unless there was another party you were both attending, then it would be like the first one all over again.....Man I wish I was still single sometimes.

No man I've had that ex while in the military. But Erika, the one I recently saw asked about the cane so I explained my back injury

I see these odd threads pop up here I wanted to start one and figured since it just happened that it would br a fun one

1. left on good terms

2. Your current gal wasn't with you

I wouldn't feel akward. Only if 1 or 2 happened. I think it would be intresting to run in to them now. I never did very good on #1 tho. ha ha

Just be gracious and carry on. Everybody has their lot in life, bumps, scrapes and broken bones. Some physically, some mentally. I have no ill will towards any of my ex's. Just learned last week that my "first love" so too speak is a raging alcoholic and drug addict. Was talking with her brother, great guy. I haven't seen either of them in 20 years or more.

Honestly I felt a bit sad at that kind of news, to bad, such a waste. I always hoped she would make something of herself.

    • Based on what I can tell, yes.   As for updating it, its a mixed bag.  Updates do fix a lot of issues, but occasionally can create some oddities.  They do more good than harm though overall.     Here's what the most current one does and a  V171 Improvements Important: Improvements will vary by model, build configuration, system, and sales region. • Looking for help troubleshooting a metallic like front end rattle. Figured I’d see if anyone had thoughts before I schedule an appointment with the dealer.   The rattle is fairly loud and occurs primarily when the front driver side wheel hits a bump, even fairly minor road seams. Sometimes does it when the passenger hits a bump but I don’t believe when the rear hits. Rattle still occurs when foot is pressing brake peddle so I think that rules out the caliper rattle I’ve read about. I’ve also checked the running boards and they are tight.   Most noticeable at slow speeds.    Any insight is appreciated.
    • We try to make cruise the coast. It’s where our favorite casino is. I only want to spectate. Never took a car. Always had one to take. I belonged to a club once. Even when I used to drag raced. It was during test and tune. Probably because I’m not a night owl, party person.
    • We had a pretty big cars and coffee in Indy this past weekend.  Pretty much anything and everything was there.
    • Good looking Olds, and TRX!   I haven't been into car shows either. I'm probably not a convert but I did push myself this year to attend a few select events to challenge some assumptions and try to experience car-based social clubs in a different way. I joined up with the local Hagerty group for some cars/coffee events, group drives. A month ago I showed my '94 Camaro I rescued last fall at Radwood. Had a good time, but, there was some sitting around with the car and that's the part of shows I don't enjoy as much. I prefer to be a spectator, walk the show, grab a burger, go home.   Radwood was the only era-limited event, but where it had strict model year limitations, it made it up in variety. Having Jason Camissa there was also a hoot.   Where I see old 50's car shows, doo-wop and winga dinga music stuff fading out, same with "only" vintage muscle clubs, it seems to be the activity-based clubs/events which are gaining strong popularity. Places where all cars and interests come together.
