Yep, you got me there. The AR and I have just never warmed to each other. The first one I ever shot when I was 14 was an actual A1 full auto. All my friends were quite enthralled but I was just not impressed. Later in my 20's I got into N.R.A. Highpower competition and Palma shooting pretty heavily. When I started shooting "Highpower" the M14 and M1A were still pretty much king. The AR's were just starting to get real competitive with the advent of float tubes, faster twist barrels and all the other stuff that is taken for granted now. As issued the original M16/AR15 was no match for the big guns. Of course thats all changed now days and the AR platform rifle has evolved into a pretty good piece of hardware. As they took over the firing line they sort of became my nemisis, it was me against them so to speak with my old rifles made of steel and wood. Somewhere along the line I became like the old timers that showed up with their M1 Garands or Springfield 1903's. It was what they were most comfortable with and what they stuck with, and thats ok. As long as your having fun and enjoying yourself that is what really matters.

So with the Machismo and Bravado of my youth dimmed somewhat by age and experience, I usually encourage new shooters coming to the game to pick up the AR. There are numerous quality examples availible these days and they are much, much easier to shoot than my M1's or M14's/M1A's, well unless your me of course. Try as I might I just can't get comfortable with the rifle. I have tried, I really have but the AR and I just aren't meant to be, and thats ok. I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy! :)

does anyone have any experience with the Burris Speedbead? they are priced around 240-260, but i managed to pick a brand new Burris speed bead for a remington 870 for only 70$.

did some research and it apparently won NRA mag's optic of the year 2009, so its got to be pretty good.

Got a 40 cal barrel for my Glock. So now it can fire that, 9mm and 357 Sig, which is what it came in initially.

What kind of barrel? I have 9mm conversion barrels for my .40's to make it cheaper for the range.

Don't be suprised if you have failures to eject with using 9mm. The ejector is shaped differently than .40-.357sig.

i see were you are coming from, hell i could have pulled these pics of the net and just threw my dream list up on the web. Hell i have sold several guns and aquired new ones as well. The only way anyone would know what i really have is if you try to break in my house and I am home. :nonod: If i am not good luck trying to break in a 800 pound safe with a CDX-09 lock. And blow torching it will just hurt you with all the ammo stuffed in there. There is a reason the mentioned lock is used to secure top secret material.
