2007 classic silverado air condition

My 2007 classic silverado stopped blowing cold air yesterday. Worked fine until we stopped and got back in it, then would not blow cold air. I listen for the compressor to kick in and could not hear it. If it is the compressor how much am I looking at in cost?

A compressor change won't be cheap since your system would have to be evacuated and then recharged afterwards. You could have something as simple as a pressure switch causing you problems. Take the plug off the switch and jumper it to see if the compressor kicks on. If it does change the switch. If it still doesn't cool then have the refrigerant checked.

The easy fix is to get one of those 134a cans with the gage. They run about $20 at autopartsland. Attach it to the LOW side (the only place it will fit) and follow the directions. If that does not work, go to a pro...
