To night I just notice my heat is not working properly. It is not hot coming out and is kinda coldish. I have a 2005 silverado with duel climate .

Damper solenoid, located behind the glove box carboard liner(must be removed) then down to the left. May be stuck or need replacing most likely... Common Problem

Scooby..... Not sure of the name of the part but thats what I call it.

Also check coolant level. Low coolant can lead to poor heat at the core. Also a blocked or partially blocked heater core can be the culprit

Where is the heater core? I know I am parked under trees and have some leaves in the box and hood area. It seemed it happen right away. Also have not gone out to the truck yet but how would coolent leak ? (i dont know nearly as much as you guys.)

oh ok i hope its nonthing to do with the heater core just looked where that is and a guy did a write up on it with pictures and the whole dash was striped. I will check the coolent and then check the scooby.... It just snowed out today so I got to get this thing fixed .

Well I am going to try to add some coolant its below the words full when cold or something like that and then some french i think under it saying the same thing. I don't see a line but i assume the line is just below the french words. It says i need dex cool or something reddish liquid .

morgan , it will be the switch that moves the damper... move it from hot to cold and it should move and you can watch it. Must move all the way. can help it with your hand too.

The switch is a very common problem.

Yes, blend door actuator is what he's talking about. There's the source of your problem. You should see evidence of movement when you move the lever from cold to hot (blue to red). If it's not doing right you're not going to be getting any heat.

Well i took most of the dash apart ..... did not need to. I see the blend actuator and took one screw off but did not have the right tool to get to the other one . Went to buy one but stores are closed.

Well I fixed it !!! :) so being stupid and looking for something i had no idea what it looks like I took most of the dash apart . DONT DO THIS . So the blend door actuator is easy to find . Just under the glove box to the left a bit will see some wires going into it just unplug and take off the black plastic thing or actuator. Then open it up and take the big black gear off and the smaller white one. You will see like a senor track for two piece of metal to run along. Mine had grease bad on a big section of it so i cleaned it all nice put it back together and reconnected it . Now you need to recalibrate the blend doors . Take the black cable off your battery for like a min or two and reconnect. turn off your fan before you put in the key and turn the key to the position just before you turn the starter on . now be quiet and listen you will hear the blend doors moving. wait till they are finished. Now i had to do this 2x times to finish the recalibration the first time only the passenger side would work the drivers side would just pump hot air out but I tried recalibrating it again and it all works now.

I told you it was just under the glove box, if you just removed the liner you would of seen it!!!

Sorry i could not reply earlier , I was out of town on work and had no internet.

well I did all of that and thought i fixed the heat but I think its something to do with my heat radiator or thermostat. Going to try changing the thermostat this week end. No I did not take pics and on my truck there was no liner covering it. Its kinda of a weird truck . Like its a short box, reg cab, manual with duel climate, upgraded clothe seats, cruse control. So once i get the thermostat done I will tell how that went.
