kstruckcountry Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 You all know what my truck looks like, and I'm wanting to add/change things. I don't want to change rims, I really like the ones I have, and the bumper isn't going anywhere. I was thinking of adding some good fog lights, any recommendations? Maybe some driving lights too? Anything you guys/gals can think of? Don't be afraid of hurting my feelings, haha.
GTBULLITT68 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I'd look into some Rigid Industries fog lights. You definitely wouldn't have a problem seeing the trails at night.
SILVERADOSC540 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 What don't you like on your truck? That's what I'd change. You could black out your front bowtie, or add some steps, or remove your side moldings, or katskin your seats, or just get a set of fuzzy dice and call it good.
kstruckcountry Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 I got the mudflaps because after a week on my road there were chips all over the cab corners, etc. I thought about a lift, but I'm not really able to shell out much coin right now. I was thinking about blacking out the chrome grille trim and bowtie. The durability of the paint would be pretty good I think, the mesh on the grille guard keeps rocks and bugs off of it. I'm not a big fan of the side molding either, but I think I'll keep it for now since it's usually in a parking lot at school. I know I'll have to get tires pretty soon, my fronts have been wearing as fast as the back because of steering the truck against the wind.
HEMICAT Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 What a loaded question! Opening yourself up to a wide range of tastes- very brave.
kstruckcountry Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 Have to get ideas somewhere hemicat. And if I asked people here(school) they'd prolly tell me underglow, stack exhaust, and rims that look like they are made from the $5 knife bin at harbor freight.

Well I know you don't want to here it, but if you're going to keep that bumper your first priority should be to do a lift. Then some wider off-set rims. Then your truck would really start to come together! And that bumper should be filled with a winch, and then some good driving lights like PIAA or something with a black grille over them. The tow mirrors would also help off-set the bumper some.
SnakeEyeSS Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Gold plate the entire vehicle, encrust the wheels with diamonds, and eventually sell it to an oil sheik for 25 million more than the parts and labor, just cause they can afford it. You've probably seen the gold plated pic on the net. None of them had diamond wheels. It'd be unique. Oh wait, this isn't ....Saudi-trucks.com You could buy double the generic fog lights and then replace the bulbs with the super bright LED replacement bulbs. That would probably do great off road and use less power.
KMGZ400 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 the only thing i would do is put tow mirrors on and maybe a back rack if you like them and definatley remove you trim. and level it! i wouldnt paint anything or black anything out, it looks nice and clean the way it is
kstruckcountry Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 I thought about leveling it, I can't decide though. May be a good spot in between where it sits now and lifting. One time I saw a truck with a rollbar that had an electronic fold down light bar, that could be a fun project eventually. I think right now I'm gonna think about new tires for the next big thing, even without lift some wider AT's should help. SnakeEyes, what lights and bulbs do you recommended? Some with a good fog pattern are what I really need, since my Maglight is about as bright as the factory ones.
JrocK817 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 ADD TRUCK NUTZ!!! haha if she were mine I would go with a 2" spacer for the front and a 3" for the rear. (if ya dont want to LIFT it). I think the NBS already have 2" block in the rear? not positive. And once that is done.. more meat on your wheels. Working on that part myself...
Bad Bowtie2 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Bigger tires, loose the body side mldgs, add fog lamps, a winch (if u really off-road alot), step bars would look good (even the cheeper black ones), add a tonnueau cover for the bed??
00Silverado4x4 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Lift/level, fog lights, and winch for the win. Leave the rest alone, already a great looking truck.
kstruckcountry Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Some good thoughts here for sure. I think first up is new tires and I've been looking at Hella fogs. I might build some steps if I can decide on a design.
SILVERADOSC540 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Saw a cool led light bar on the show Truck U, don't remember the maker, but super bright and pretty cool. Episode re-airs on Speed Sat. morning, 7 central. No +1's on the fuzzy dice idea? I thought you guys had my back...Gotta save the guy some money, edumucation ain't cheap.
