Rifle. Only place to buy ammo is Walmart or online bulk. Everything else is a ripoff, especially now.

I'd go with the rifle. I have a 1934 Tula and they are a blast at the range. You can still get spam cans of cheap military surplus ammo so they are one of the cheapest rifles to shoot. I will warn you, mine kicks harder than any other rifle I own.

I love shooting that surplus ammo but you gotta clean the gun after or it corrodes

very true. All military surplus 7.62x54R ammo has corrosive primers and need to be cleaned immediately after shooting.

My brother has one in my safe and the barrel is corroded like crazy. Still shoots good, but I'm glad I don't treat my guns like that. They are good shoulder cannons, and for $100 they are a good deal. Much more than that and I'd rather get a modern .308. Savage makes a good rifle for those on a budget. A ~400 dollar savage is more bang for your buck than an old heavy rifle that doesn't use a NATO round.

I'd put those coupons towards a better rifle.
