I have a 2009 Silverado LTZ CC with a 6.2. I installed a Magnacharger TVS 1900 when the truck had 3000 miles on it. I wasn't happy with the stock supercharge performance-POWER IS ADDICTIVE. I installed smaller and smaller pulleys on the supercharger- down to 2.75" and larger pulleys on the crank. The boost pressure was over 14psi. The 6 rib belts kept breaking-about once a day if I really got on it, so I installed a 10 rib belt system from ATI and a ATI super damper. I also installed a Snow meth/water injection system to keep down the knock. Justin at Blackbear fine tuned the system and let me tell you- it will run!

But, and this is a big but, I know that if I would stay on the throttle hard for very long and often that this engine would not last a hour. You have to use common sense when you drive something set up like this. That not to say I don get on it, I do and more than you might think but I don't abuse the engine. You might find that hard to belive with 14 pounds of boost but you don't have to stomp on the throttle like a 16 year old everytime you take off. When I really want to accelerate fast I just roll into the throttle until I hear or feel the rear tires spinning and don't give it any more juice until it is ready or you just burn up the tires and the engine. When the rear end locks up solid about 45 mph you can get down on it and pull the full 14psi.

I have been driving with this set up for about 40,000 miles now and I have had to do nothing to the drivetrain at all except change oil and filters.

This engine runs as good as the day I put the supercharger on it. I feel it will run for a long long time.

I know one day under hard use something may give way but if it blew up tomorrow, I would not be sorry. This truck is a complete pleasure to drive with the power it has.

One thing that I found out though was to be very careful with a 4 wheel drive launch. It is absolutely brutal. I only did it once under full throttle and I am surprised with the violent acceleration that something wasnt totally torn up. The shade on my sunroof flew all the way back and my grage door opener on my sunvisor flew off and hit me in the head.

It was something that I would not do again- way to hard on the truck and engine.Just using rear wheel drive is like a fuse and limits the amount of power thru wheelspin that the drive train endures.

Just my thoughts on the subject. GM truck engines are very very tough!

I'm curious of the output my truck will have with the right cam and a TVS1900 on the stock bottom end. Since I don't have a warranty I will push it as close to the edge as I can

I can't speak for Louie730 but I have a stock bottom end and I believe that PDYoung does as well. I don't think that GM would sell Callaway conversions new on the lot if they didn't trust the bottom end. I think you'll be safe Chris, especially being 2WD. You will have to ease into it with that much power, which, unless you wind it up to 8000rpm, should save you from blowing the bottom out of the beast. As the Nike ad said about 20 years ago, Just Do It. If I'm at 540hp(at the crank I'm sure) then you should be around the same as I'm pretty much stock besides the supercharger, cai, larger injectors and exhaust. Your hp is already about the same as a stock 6.2, so you should run at or over where I am now.

I can't speak to the Edelbrock E-Force install on the 5.3 GM, but I can tell you after installing it on my 2007 Mustang GT, it was probably one of the easiest and most complete kits I ever installed, not to mention the instructions they included made it a breeze. About a year after I installed it and 14,000km's later, I ran into some lean code issues, but couldn't pin point it down. Edelbrock worked with me every step of the way analyzing data logs, fuel trims, etc., to try and nail down my problem (even though they didn't even have to answer the phone for me). In the end, between my trusted mechanic and the Edelbrock engineer, it was determined to be a faulty fuel pump driver module. The customer support from Edelbrock alone sold me as a customer for life.

Jon how much timing adv does your scan gauge show you? Right now I'm pulling 40+ degrees at WOT

Checked again this morning :driving: found that at cruising speed I'm 32 to 42 degrees, WOT drops to 22 and climbs a little from there, and like you on the wind down jumps to about 42 degrees. Just to make sure though, I may check again tonight.
