well i have a ford e350 box truck with a 5.4 for my buisness, and its horrible on gas. 8-10 MPG on a good day. not to mention how hilly PA is for all you PA'ers out there.

selling that truck.

anyway, trying to figure out what the most fuel efficent fullsize van would be. options i have thought of would be a chevy express 1500 with the 4.3.. but im intalling a pressure washer and it will have water tanks and equipment weighing in around maybe 1200 to 1500lbs, so i would definatley want to add leafs or airbags in the back.

other option would be a express 2500 with the 4.8, e150 with the 4.6, or e250 with 4.6.

i would prefer the econoline but i know the 4.6/5.4's are horrible on gas.

also if anyone knows anything about the nissan NV vans, any input would be appriciated.

any opinions on what would get the best MPG would be greatly appriciated.

With the amounts of weight your talking, plus hilly terrain, I'd stay with a V8. Me personally I'd try to find the 2500 with a 4.8l. I think that'll be the best bang for your buck.

I wanted to say that, but I have never owned a van I just think a v6 would work too hard. You also must take into consideration axle ratio.
