New member. Questions on my 2002 8.1?

Found this site from asking a question on the Woodalls site.

Am in the process of my first plug change on my 2002 8.1. It looks as if I will stay with the stock, OEM, plug.

A question came up regarding turning off the torque management. Is this a safe process? If so I will have my mechanic do this on my next service. If I get good advice here I will ask him to do so. I don't drive crazy anymore so there won't be any worry about over accelerating.

Any ideas on how to increase my fuel economy to over 20 MPG would be appreciated. I was only joking. That is IMPOSSIBLE.

Thanks

20 mpg is possible. Chain your truck to the vehicle in front of you at a stoplight and turn your truck off. LOL

To turn off torque managment, you will have to get your ecm custom tuned. If you keep your foot off the floor it will be fine. I have 0 torque mgmt. Also had shift points adjusted, fuel trims, spark, whole 9 yards. Check into Blackbear performance if you don't already have one in mind.

Go with the stock delco platinum, and I went with msd wires.. I removed 75% of the TQ management and all is well

Look into a custom tune..Its really the best way to go!

Also go with as 180 stat, It will help with oil comsumption!
