The second vehicle should be the new SS, painted black with a Buick badge on it...

Agreed, just as long as it is RWD and looks just like an 87'.......lol

NO! You will be banned. The Grand National was two door and my dream car. If they ruin that I will be pissed at GMSent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2

My brother had an 86 then an 87, I know how you feel. Buick needs a younger customer base, that's a good place to start.

It better be 2 door. Restyle the 04-06 GTO

I would be very impressed to see an ecoboost pull 8000 pounds over a mountain without the engine having to scream.

I think turbos on a V8 makes more sense. And I think anyone who wants long, reliable power in a half ton needs a baby duramax. Diesel is the only way to go for long lasting power IMO.

Well I hate to tell ya but the Ecoboost is indeed that good pulling loads.

Does not shift much, does not REV!

On really steep climbs it might drop into 4th,most times it's in 6th with a drop to 5th.

You hear the turbos spool up and off you go.

Even in the Rocky Mountains and foothills here in Alberta I will stick it in cruise and forget about it....something I never could do with any V8 for fear of revving to the moon and dropping multiple gears.

To compare it to my 07 VMax that has custom tunes, exhaust, intake thrown at it....well there really is no comparison....

As long as it stays reliable I have no urge to get another V8 and no need.

Really guys who have never driven one but talk like they know crack me up!

The Ecoboost is Fords best selling truck engine for a reason.....maybe GM should pay attention.

It worked in the Regal many years ago as mentioned. Why did they not continue developing it. I know fuel cost were down, but emission laws were always getting tougher. I sure it cost it much more than an 8, but Ford customers are paying to get it. Most of us, not all, but most of us hardly use full power once a tankful. When I was younger, all the time, but not as much now. Economy of a 6 and power of an 8. That would work great for my daily driving and occasional pulling and a few drifts now and then.

For anyone that may know about them, would a diesel from an Isuzu cab over work in a 1500? You see so many of them for deliveries, lawn services, box vans etc. I just wondered if it has been tried. They sound loud. It is not a Duramax, but it should return great fuel economy. Just a thought.

Some people have swapped cummins 4 cyl diesels into various vehicles. They're cheap and capable of ~500 hp properly modified IIRC. Not an everyday engine swap though.

maybe a twin turbo 4.3..... it would be cool. i've driven a few ecoboost, they are impressive.

Eco-boost are impressive yes. Been in a couple... But reliable? Not from what I've read on diff forums I'm on, some people have luck. It's about 50/50, some of the models are really bad for gathering condensation in the intercooler making it stall out when you gas it. (Like in a merging situation)

If you look around it's actually not hard to find at all, the Eco boost engine has issues. Once again, ford making its customers play guinea pig on a product...

I wouldn't stray to far away from a Chevy v8, as they are known to be good engines with minimal problems the last 20 years...

Should just tell GM to.bite the bullet and throw quad 75mm turbos on a V8, why not lol.

i think the next tech to come on our v8s is start/stop. the engine will actually shut down at idle. I give it 3 years, just my opinion.

LOL four s475's. that would be real street friendly!

On top gear uk Jeremy drove an older car with twin turbos for one of the mileage episodes. I can't remember what it was though.

I agree Carder. If turbos on a v6 is good, turbos on a v8 is better. From what I've seen online, the Ecoboosts have gotten similar mileage to my 2006.
