Get it on Amazon

I think that's where I got mine.

Also, I don't have the proper gears for 35" tires so the rpm's are a lot lower resulting in a higher trans. temp. because it also comes out of overdrive in order to go anywhere. So I just run it in 3rd until I get new gears

Over the next two months I will be heading from Ohio thru Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, etc., heading back to Utah in my 2011 Silverado Crew Cab w/the 5.3 pulling a 29 foot travel trailer 5,500 pounds) with the factory tow pkg. (Read tiny tranny cooler). I haven't had to deal with high temps because of the mild weather.

So we will see how hot the tranny gets, especially when I climb to ge back to the 3,000 foot elevations of Utah.

If I keep my trailer, I am leaning towards a deep pan (additional 2 quts. of fluid) and Amsoil fluid and see what happens. I just hate cutting those factory lines.....

So far it's been 4,000 towing miles and 10,000 touring miles on my trip across the country. There have been zero issues with the truck and trailer up to this point. I did put Nitto Crossteks (275/55/20) at 33,000 miles (those Goodyear LS were about shot) in New Hampshire because they had ZERO SALES TAX!

I will be replacing factory lines with -6 hyd lines for the new Fluidyne cooler

Which Fluidyne cooler are you getting?

That cooler is ridiculously expensive. B&M makes one similar to the one we both installed but is 1.5 inches thick and is polished and rated for like 20k btu's or something around that. It also has AN fittings on it, so if you wanna spend a third of the money then I would suggest it. Here's the URL:

If I would have seen it before I installed the one I have now, I would have gotten that instead.

I got it cheaper than ebay from Jegs because Military Discount. It looks amazing

What are your temps. now? It looks like it is really efficient.

The reason mine isn't as cool as it should be is because on my grille the center crossbar is blocking half the cooler, I wish I had the C3 Denali front clip, that way I can have that completely open grille design like you have.

And electric fans were the best mod I have yet to do. I can drop my trans. temp. from 170 (towing) down to 135 in about 10 minutes while sitting idle. Can't wait to get my 4.88 gears. What kind of fans are you installing on your LQ9?

I don't have the cooler hooked up yet. I will be running -6 braided hyd line from trans to rad to cooler and back to trans. I just added the 05 E-Fans. Here is a preview of the cooler just sitting in front of the B&M which Bruce already called Dibs on lol,

Chawkins6789... Is that one pictured a direct replacement? That's what I am looking for, I just want to bolt on a more efficient one

The electric fan replacement won't give you that much of temp decrease. I've had dual 6500cfm setup on my rig for few years now and it has kept me @ 195 engine temp and 175 tranny temp but I still go over 200deg while towing with stock tranny cooler

    • I am sorry if this was misleading. That was a document attached to our most recent work order number (Doc# 7105804) that summarized all the current updates. These programs were ‘redone’ in the past but these versions dated 4/1/2016 were the ones that actually made all of the problems disappear. These programs were relayed to the dealer from the technical services group at GM. Here is the exact wording on the last work order:   “Front view camera reprogramming with SPS. A new version of FCM software was released to the service dept. In addition to providing general robustness and stability enhancements, this update includes all enhancements from previous software version releases. SPS camera and calibrate camera. OLH to perform extended camera relearn procedure after camera calibration. Would not take with first GDS learn. Front camera SPS – BDYZ333157450 GDS2 – camera road calibration performed 2810835 Front view camera reprogramming with SPS LT 0.6 OLH – extended camera relearn procedure OLH LT 1.5”   I got the truck back on 4/8 – since that time it has been great no problems whatsoever. The lane keep assist, active cruise control and AEB all work very well around town and at highway speeds up to 80mph. During this time I had been away for a week and purposely let the battery sit without a batter tender. Even with the battery a bit lower there were no problems exhibited. I really think this one has it fixed after dealing with these issues over a couple of years. These new programs and relearn process when completed seem to make all the parts (and newer replacement parts) ‘talk’ to each other without any glitches. Hope this helps
    • I turned 72 today. My day began with a trip to the pharmacy to pickup meds for me and the dog and then a stop at my chiropractor before heading home. Once home I started the job of replacing the rear brake pads and one rotor on our 2018 Silverado which will probably end up taking me 3 days to finish, gotta pace myself you know. Sometimes I question myself on why I still do most of my own repairs but if I wasn't then it's more than likely I would be sitting in front of the TV all day. It seems like the list of things I need to do gets longer no matter what I accomplish. I'm not complaining but being retired was so much easier when I was 62.   Peace
    • google "bathub failure curve". Basically, any part of the vehicle can fail at any time.  It starts off as being more likely (early failure), then the failure rate goes down (but does not go to zero), then it goes up over time because it wears/ages out.
    • I went from every other day to about once in five since the rain abated. I'm not unhappy about that. Took most of the month for the ditches to dry enough to mow.
    • Good for you and her!   Lots of brushing and grooming to be done
