Looking to replace my license plate lights with these:

http://www.amazon.com/JDM-ASTAR-Extremely-Bright-Brightest/dp/B00JIEX722/ref=sr_1_1?m=A126Q4T86JLNL&s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1437014014&sr=1-1&refinements=p_4%3AJDM+ASTAR%2Cp_6%3AA126Q4T86JLNL

Anyone have experience with this seller or this product? I'm only concerned with it flashing or throwing an error code.

Thanks

Josh

Excellent, thanks. Do you think these would work well? No error codes, no fitment issues, and bright enough?

I got 7443 amber and red for the Denali (front/rear), error codes right away. only solution I know of is to add the load resistors

which I will NOT splice into the wiring harness. Maybe there will be a direct swap with 2016 Sierra, which suppose

to have both LED rear and headlights...

I have those on mine. They were actually better than the 194 VLEDS I bought.

Those will not work in the license plate lights, you want bulbs that have diodes all the way around on the sides. Below are the VLEDs you want for the license plate:

5K

6K

Or you can get the Astars on the other page. I have both bulbs-one set in my truck and the other in the wife's Honda. The Astar license plate bulbs were just as good if not better for half the price.

Thanks for the input. Are the Astars too bright? As in, do they throw weird shadows on the back of the truck because they're too bright for that spot? Also, did you experience any error codes when you put them in?

Thanks again

Josh

These work great. I bought my reverse, license, and cargo lights from this seller. Arrived within 2-3 days. Philips Extreme are great bulbs, throw ZERO errors

Hi guys, new to sight. Hoping you can help me out. I know nothing about mechanics, so in need of advice.

I have 2014 Sierra SLT, with the LED accent lights and Halogen protectors (I think). I really don't like the yellow/Amber tint of the headlights.

I understand the stock lights are size 9012LL. From my half ass research, it seems like that has more light output than the 9006. But it seems like a lot of people replace their stock lights with sylvania ultras or ZXEs.

If I switch to one of these bulbs, I will get the "white lights" i want but will they be lower powered lights or less light output?

And am I correct in thinking I can plug a 9006 bulb into my 9012 socket without any mods? Once you have to cut or trim anything, your already far beyond my skill set.

And any other lights you would recommend for me. Again just want white light without tint and no modifications.

Thank you

was changing out my cargo lamp (finally) upon removing the screws .. i dropped one of them ....

the odds of it falling smack in the middle between cab and bed have to small right ... and odds that it lands in that middle area that connects the cab and bed have to be even smaller ..

welp im out of a screw so my cargo lamp is snapped in and screwed in with one screw. Other than that the lights look good. My truck is now 80% (i would say) LED lighting. Just need high beams and fogs

Heres how the 194 Philips bulb looks

Is that an LED or standard bulb? Nevermind I found some!

    • Howdy folks,   Recently I pulled a heated steering wheel and clock spring out of a 2015 Sierra All Terrain (part numbers coming soon - will have to disassemble), and just installed it on my 2016 Sierra WT (as base model as it gets).   On install, I noticed that I’m missing the connector often tucked behind the dash for the heating element.     No problem… or so I thought.   I used an “Add-A-Fuse” at my heated steering wheel fuse location, which has voltage, but no wires. I ran it to the positive of the heated steering wheel (Violet/White), and took black to ground.   Hooked up the battery, turned the truck on - no heated steering wheel. No button backlights. Was pleased to see that my cruise control was working though.   Read a post suggesting reversing polarity, so I gave it a shot. Violet and White to ground, Black to power.    Aha! Heat! But I seemingly can’t turn it off AND still no backlights on any of the buttons.    Checked all fuses, everything is still in good order. I’m stumped.   Does anyone have any insight? If so, please share!
    • I'm about 1800 miles into my last oil change, and yesterday a message appeared saying oil life was at 77%. Not sure why it popped up but I think all of these electronics could be susceptible to solar flares or somesuch. I change my oil right at 3K each time, and that was the first time in 10870 miles that message came up. Strange thing is that it showed on the screen at all since I don't drive with that sort of info displayed on the DIC.

    • Checked the pads today and there's plenty of meat on them. If the message keeps coming up, I'll just answer YES that the pads were replaced and wait for the squeal.
    • Welcome to the Forum! Always post the code definitions along with the codes. there are over 18000 possible codes, no one remembers them all and most will skip over your post rather than look them up
