Does anyone have any suggestions on how to convert the cover into the harness connector? I got a set on eBay (part # 23295942) that was supposed to fit '14 - '16s but when I went to install them today I realized the plug is a 6 pin and not 8 pin as it should be. Because I purchased them 6 weeks ago eBay cant help me and the seller is no longer a registered eBay user (shocking). I can drill out the back to get the wires through but I'm not sure how to get them out of the one harness and into the correct pins on the cover without destroying them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem from an ebay seller. I got lucky and was able to get all my money and doing back. I ended up going with an after market from xglow and am very happy. Took longer to install but I wanted to be able to turn it on at the back of the truck.

I believe this is a kit for the 2016 only. Rather than hacking it up I might just sell it and order the correct set. Wish I had tried installing it sooner to discover the issue.

Does anyone even know what this type of connector is called? The instructions just say 8-way connector but I've been searching for an hour and can't find a precise name for it.

The existing pins are pretty hard t get out as they are usually barbed so they go in from the back and cant be pushed out when assembling to the mating pins.

If you feel like hacking it up cut it off and solder or crimp on new female pins and epoxy them in the drilled blank plug.

There are a few examples like cmyss link above.

Don't know another name but connector, waterproof connector?

Thanks for the advice. I agree that clipping the wires and adding new terminals would likely be much easier than trying to get the wires out and into the new connector intact.

Thanks. I was originally going to try to reuse the pins and was trying to figure out how to remove them but it looks like doing what you did with some new pins is my best bet.

Thank you Patrick. I'm usually pretty good at finding things but this one eluded me. Now I have the part number for the correct harness if my attempt at using the plug goes wrong. Edited by je1279
