Just got my 2014 and going to level it and want to run 33s the thing is that a local tire shop advised against the 2.5" RC lift because of the strut spacer that goes under the strut. Something about it will compress the strut and make it only last 2 months. He wanted me to go with a polyurethane spacer for the top of the strut. I'm not that familiar with lifting as i have only been lowering trucks but never lifting.

Is this guy yankin my chain and just wants me to buy the lvl that nets him the highest margins for his shop?? I mean $150 installed and alignment isn't bad but i don't want cheap garbage on my new baby.

EDIT::

My GF will also be leveling her 2014 crew cab 2WD and I just want to be sure that we get the right kits that will not be giving us problems, because I will be driving 1800+ miles back to work in North Dakota and leaving her at home in south texas with a broken truck is not how I like to roll.

I currently run the RC 2" (Old Kit) on mine, put it on about a year ago and haven't had a single problem at all.

I'm also running 33x12.50r18 with NO rub at all

Sorry for the crappy pics, I'll take some more tonight hopefully.

I just put on 33x12.50r18 tires, Atturo Trail Blade... RC 2", with absolutely NO rubbing and NO trimming of anything!! There is still PLENTY of space. Wheels are 18x9 with 0 offset.

Nice.... I plan on running 33x12.50x20s little rubbing doesn't bother me.

I just want to be certain that these "rubber" level kits wont sag... I mean they give me lifetime warranty and a pretty snazzy deal of 1500 for leveling both trucks, alignment on both as well as the tires for mine (mastercraft) balanve mout taxes and everything

You won't have any issues with rubbing at all, those are the same size tires I'm running. Fits perfect.

She sounds pretty smart to me lol 33" are the way to go!

Anything smaller just looks to "small" for the truck, I love my MT's!

Gas mileage went to S**T! Before I put the 33" on I had 275-65-18's, I was getting around 17.5 average for both city and highway. Now after the 33" it went down to like 14.5-15!!!

My driving will be 90% highway so im not too worried..... Plus gas is cheap anyway. Lol

2WD Bilstein 5100's all around. Front set at 2nd highest setting, with a 1" lower shock spacer from E-bay. Rear has a 2" block in place of stock block.

Wheels are Black Rhino Tanay 20x9+12 with BFG KO2's in 275/65.

Rides more firm than stock for sure, but still rides good. Stiff, and tight I guess, rides like a Truck!

Also have a Diablo tuner and Airaid CAI, runs good.

So how much front end level did you end up with and how much clearance do you have? I have the same BFG tires in 285x65-20 sitting in my garage and I need to order wheels. I am looking at Black Rhino Sierras, also +12. Do you think you would clear a slightly larger/wider tire and do they stick out at all with the +12 offset?

Thanks
