Just curious if anyone know what the slot is for? I have looked online, asked the dealer and scoured the manual and not one knows...... Must be a credit card holder right?

I believe the purpose is cards used on till roads but it would probably hold a credit card. Wouldn't want to leave one there in plain sight though.

Its where you insert the loan payment every month.

 

 

I think it's just a "card" holder. What type of card you insert is up to you. I've seen a similar slot on Hyundai and Kia models and have used it for toll road tickets which is why I said that earlier.

I thought it was CC reader for MODS.....Just tell the truck what you want and then insert a card.

The wife's Sorento has one below the radio. I believe the literature listed it as a toll ticket holder.

It is a slot to hold a gate key/card! Some big companies require you to have a ID card to enter doors and the gate for the employee parking lots. They put this slot there so it is close to the window to wave or insert the card to gain access. Same thing for apartment complexes and gated communities as well.

 

Personally, I use mine for business cards. The little clip on the visor does not hold anything well. One small bump and they are one your lap or floorboard.

There are air freshener waffer that fit that. Haven't found them in the stores, but Amazon and eBay has them.

If you don't have the trailer brake thing you have a spot which holds lots of cards.

Now that I check further ----- you got a slot instead of a transfer case knob. Apparently, the more gizmos you have the fewer "storage compartments".
