Just a CAUTION. If you might ever intend to take advantage of the accessory upper bed tie-downs that are available for the truck make sure that your spray liner installer does not spray over the plastic block-off plugs that come installed in the bed pockets. Mine did and rendered the feature useless. Cutting them out creates a potential rust headache. Almost impossible not to nick the paint!

Like ShotgunZ71 I got the Line-X (black) and Fold a Cover G4. The caddy came with it. The locking folds on the front and back [aanels are really cool. Have had alot of snow and rain and it is completely waterproof. It folds up easy and has straps that holds the entire system against the last fold. That opens 75% of the bed for use. The other 25% is taken up by the caddy.

I did quite a bit of debating on this with my 2014 purchase and decided to go with the oem drop in liner for a few reasons.

 

1. It ended up being a dealer throw in so it was extremely easy on the wallet

2. The drop in I had in my old 1998 was in the truck since day one and even with it being the old velcro style that moved around a lot in the bed it still didn't tear up the bed that much even after 14 years of abuse so these new style fasten down liners have to be even better.

3. It was hard for me to get over the fact that a spray in liner doesn't protect from severe dents and could possibly scratch. The rigidity in the drop in liners just seem a bit more safe to me.

4. I like the idea of being able to take the liner out and inspect for rust or defects even if it isn't done often the option is still there with a drop in.

Can you post pictures of the GM bed liner they put in. I ordered from dealer "GM" logo drop in and told them I would install. I have it here at home but question the fit of the tail gate cover already and have not installed anything yet. The tail gate cover does not seem right as the two factory holes where the old latch were are not on our 2014 Silverado. Did they just lay your tailgate cover on and drill all new holes including where the latch holes are?

The only way I would have a drop in liner is if it was going on top of a spray in liner.

Not a bad idea if your really abusing your bed....gravel, boulders etc. That is where the drop ins shine.

You can probably pick one up cheap or free at the spray in shops.

My LineX dealer had a few take offs stacked behind his shop.

Grabbed a few quick pics when I got home from work. I didn't pay much attention to the mounting holes in the bed before the liner so I couldn't tell you if these were all existing holes or not.

 

Only thing I don't like about it is the hole cover on the far right isn't all that tight and keeps popping out but I eventually plan to put cover on so it won't matter either way.

Just put a bedrug in mine. Wouldn't go any other route. Keeps the bed protected and does what a Bedliner is meant to do, keep the bed from damage. Other bed liners such as drop-ins CAUSE Damage overtime and spray in liners require you to damage the bed in order to properly install it into the bed. Also it keeps the truck looking like more than just a work truck when not being used strictly as a work truck.

I have a sprayed in liner and they sprayed over the plastic covers for the add-on tie-downs. I would like to put in the Chevy's tie down kit - 23146899. My question is if you remove the plastic covers is there enough overlap with the tie downs to cover the sprayed in liner so there are no gaps etc.? How do they look after you install the tie downs and if someone has photos after the installation.

Yes, the bezels cover up a lot further than the plugs. This is my '13 Sierra with the BedTred liner and the 2014-15 OEM tie downs.

Went with a bedrug as well. Main reason, this truck is replacing my suburban, I'm putting a A.R.E. Z-Series cap on it and I don't see the need for either a spray-on or drop-in.

 

And even if I did keep the bed in an open state, I wouldn't really worry about the inside of the bed. It's just the inside of truck bed, it's designed to get banged up, chipped and scuffed. On my last truck I put in a rubber bed mat and called it a day.

looked at everyone's inputs so far, plus some you-tube vids, and I'm gonna go w/ the DualLiner for my '14 Silverado ... I've seen some Line-X's w/ dents in 'em & I don't know if I could live that, + what if they miss a few spots on the sanding prep? bubbles? ... I didn't get the moveable upper tie-downs when I took delivery, so I might order 'em thru the dealer and get the DualLiner that has the cut-outs for 'em ... will post pics after install

I have installed the BedRug and the Retrax Pro roll top. Silly me failed to mark the sites of the two larger drain holes on the drivers side and passenger side of the bed before I placed the BedRug and in spite of probing around for 20 minutes with a sharp awl trying to locate the drains I can't find them yet. Could anyone tell me how far back from the front and side the 2 large oval cut drain holes are on a 2014 Sierra six and a half foot bed. I need to locate them to cut out some of the BedRug and place the drain tubes for the ReTrax Pro. Thanks in advance.

My new 2014 crew cab has the factory installed movable tie-downs. I just ordered a BedRug and will be installing it myself.

 

I wonder what is the best way to deal with the installation around the tie downs and the other locations where you might possible move the tie-down too? Thanks.
