Just bought a brand new BedRug off Ebay. I made an offer for $360 and they accepted. This is by far the cheapest option I have come across. I got the rug in today and installed it, works perfectly.

Linex sprayed over my cargo tiedown plugs. I was worried how tough it would be to get them cut out. It was fairly easy so I shot a little video of the easiest way I found to do it.

Have a question for the bedtred users. Is the surface a rough composite type material or a cloth type material? Also, what about water absorption? A lot of the information videos claim a padded surface. Just wondering how that works.

I went with the Weathertech to begin with. Unfortunately, I have a standard box, and the guys at Weathertech use 1 size to fit 2 possible lengths of beds that are about a half inch difference in length. My bed must have been the longer of the two, because the bed liner shrank and didn't cover the end of the bed after the sun shined on it for a few weeks. They were nice enough to give me a refund.

 

Afterward, I had Line-X sprayed and it is awesome. Here are a few pics of my experience with both types.

My 2011 ext cab was bought new and came with free Line-X. It was OK, it just faded after a while. My new 2014 came with a GM plastic bed liner. I pulled it out a couple of weeks ago to drill some drain holes in it. Why in the world there aren't already drain holes in it is baffling, it will hold 5 gallons of water after every car wash or thunderstorm. The idiots at the dealership stripped out about half of the screws across the back of the cab plus the 2 at the back. Some guys just don't give a hoot about what kind of job they do with their $7 Harbor Freight tools. I guess they have no idea what the torque setting on a drill is for. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't want the plastic liner. I really like the Bed Rug and the BakFlip covers, no paint damage and no holes to drill. I hate the idea of 10-12 extra holes drilled in my new truck. I'll probably just keep the plastic liner and put one of the BakFlip covers on it. I did put a much better sealant on the screws than the kids at the dealership did.

 

I couldn't see much paint damage under the plastic bed liner after a few months, certainly not anything close to what they do to a new truck bed before spraying Line-X.

I just noticed that the dealer installed spray in bed liner was sprayed over the capped cargo hook holes. I am debating on whether to ask the dealer to "resolve" or DIY... anyone know the part number for the plastic covers? GM Parts Direct doesn't have an illustrated parts breakdown for the 2014s yet.

Went to the closest Line X place to test the waters and get a price. $540 for black, $299 more for color matching. I'd of liked to get the color matching but not for $300 more.

Wow! That's WAY expensive on price!

 

I had mine done a couple weeks ago for $425.00 in black. Line X of Lee's Summit Missouri. It has to be a regional thing on price..... you need to move to KC! :lol:

Thank you for the video... I'll be removing my caps this week when my "Chevy Bullet" tie-downs come in! :thumbs:

Ya, it's a regional thing. In Albany, NY area the cheapest Line X is $525. Onyx and Bullet spray in start at $500

      Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.

      Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?

      Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.

      Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.

      I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
