I don't know if my factory spray in will fade but I would bet it will. I wonder if there is something that is uv protective that I could put on it to slow the fade down.

You can occasionally apply a product that has UV resistance such as Just Once (justonce.com) or 303 Aerospace. A more permanent solution is to go get LINE-X ReNew. Link: http://www.linex.com/pages/2010/bedliners/products/renew.php

yeah I was. Looks good. I would like to see better pictures of the rails if you dont mind.

The side rails and tailgate have the factory rail caps. They covered the front rail by the back window.

Didnt you say you got the plastic rail caps sprayed? That is what i want to see.

If you go the spray in liner route, and have the bed lights under the rail, make sure they know about it so they don't just spray over them.

I think by "plastic covers", he meant the removable tie down covers...

Received and installed my Bed Rug tonight.

 

Took me about 2 hrs. But I'm happy with the result.

 

Now just have to decide what tonneau I want to go with.

-Do the spray on bed liners cause issues with the soft drop feature of the tailgate?

 

-Are most of y'all going over or under the rails? I'm not sure which would look better. I am also worried about the factory plastic bed rail covers fading.

 

-How bad does LineX fade over time? I live in Florida and do not currently have a garage. Will I regret not getting the UV protection in five years?

1. No, they do not interfere with the soft drop feature of the tailgate.

2. If you have the factory plastic rail caps, they have to stay on the truck and you cannot apply a bedliner product to them. Your best bet is to either apply UV protection (Just Once or 303 Aerospace) or buy aftermarket aluminum rail caps. The aftermarket aluminum rail caps install on top of the factory plastic rail caps.

3. If you get a LINE-X bedliner with UV protection (Premium, Platinum, or a color match), you can expect the fading rate to be similiar to the fading rate of your truck's paint.

I installed the betred by bedrug. Looks like a spray in. Soft underside like the bedrug without looking like a rug. It's sweet. Very durable.
