How many miles do those represent?

35,278 Drained Catch Can 1 tablespoon 38,646 Drained Catch Can 3 tablesspoons watery 41,071 Drained Catch Can 5 oz

The really full container was during winter. Lost of moisture I believe in the catch can. It is now black to a darker color. Drained yesterday at 42866 and barely got anything.

Is there any definitive proof that these catch cans are beneficial? I can see that they capture some oil but are the intakes/valves any cleaner than those without the cans?

^^^^ That's nasty and precisely why I sleep better at night with mine installed.

Sure, you can post up a video someone else has posted to prove your point. But I'm asking is this: HAS ANYONE BORESCOPED AN ECOTEC WITH A CATCH CAN TO SEE IF IT ACTUALLY MADE IMPROVEMENTS?

I would prefer if this was done by a forum member or someone who doesn't stand to gain financially from posting you tube videos of these supposed benefits...

I had a few performers in my time never did the catch can, cheep insurance I guess. I usually don't go to far pass 150k on the miles never had a problem, I guess the next owner will thank you.

Drained my catch can for the first time after 1K miles and was actually surprised at how much it caught in that short time. I didn't have anything handy to measure the quantity so I just put it in a shot glass I had laying around. So far very happy I decided to add the can.

Newm: Thanks for the update. From what I saw in your install pics, you didn't buy the clean side separator contraption that goes on the oil fill hole on the valve cover? I'm leaning towards just ordering the catch can.

Correct...I did not install the clean side separator. I was told that the catch can will stop/catch 90% or so I just went that route. That and there are two clean side separators on the truck and they only have the one for the drivers side figured out so far. It's my understanding that they are working on a solution to the passenger side but until then I am happy. I will also add that when Installing and looking at both clean side inlets to the air box they were 100% dry with no evidence of oil/crud.

Wait so when you installed the oil catch can, you noticed the clean side inlets were 100% dry with no evidence of oil/crud? Meaning the clean side separator is not that critical to install then?
