I ran the drain tube and put it down behind the upper A arm. I just slide it between the frame and a bracket for a wire I believe to be the wheel speed sensor. I didn't want any oil in the engine bay if I was quick about my drain, so now I can drain it in the wheel well and the rest will drip out of the tube on the ground and not on anything in the engine bay. Does make it tougher to drain though.

If my other parts for the clean side seperator ever show up I'll install it and probably remove the RX stickers from both then.

My RX can arrived today (5.3) and I just put it in. It only took a week and a half to get here and everything seems satisfactory so far.

What are you guys doing with your drain tube? Sorry if I missed any explanation on that. It almost seems unneeded because I could fit a small cup under the drain valve.

Also, they gave me a ziplock bag full of barbed fittings and I don't need any of them. Am I missing something? I assume they're given just in case.

Lastly, just to be clear, no body cut apart the stock hose and reused those quick-connect fittings with the new hose, right? Everyone just put the new, given hose right up to the smooth male fittings off the engine?

Gotcha. I also wondered about the valve possibly leaking and dripping oil. Putting a 1/4" plug in the drain valve is another solution. (I'm pretty sure the valve is 1/4")

Got this junk out. I think it's a little over 4k.

I'm looking at adding dual catch cans. One for the dirty side and then one for the clean side. I'm just debating if I want to Y the two connections from each clean side valve cover together or cap one and use the other. I was going to just use a clean side separator, but after talking to a vendor and due to cold climate I live in I was advised that moisture than normally would get burned off would then collect the in the clean side seperator and drop back into the oil. A second catch can would trap the moisture and the price is a huge difference.

Still waiting on my can. F*****g USPS is a joke. It shipped from Rx on December 1 and left the Florida post office on the 2nd with 2 day priority shipping which means it should have been here Thursday December 4th. Here it is Sunday the 7th and still no catch can. It's now been 3 weeks since I placed my order. Looking at the USPS tracking page, it should hopefully arrive tomorrow but unfortunately it will be Christmas before I have free time again to install it. Thanks a lot USPS you worthless government s**t.

Well it actually ended up showing up today on a Sunday and I didn't expect that at all. I guess they do that for priority mail? Anyway everything looks pretty good in the package. Good length of black hose, the drain hose is substantially larger in diameter than I expected and the ball valve on the bottom is pretty robust. My only complaint is the outlet nozzle ( the one near the edge at the top of the can) is slightly on an angle but it's secured in there pretty damn good so I suspect the hole was drilled on an angle. Anyway hopefully I can get this thing installed on Sunday 12/21 which is my next free day. Unless I do it on a Friday night out in the dark and cold. We'll see.

Should only take 20-30 min max to install

Yeah I just wanna do it during the daylight and I'll be out of town this weekend and the 20th we have some Christmas stuff to do with my wife's family. So I'm aiming for Sunday 12/21.

Mine was the same way.

No complaints with my Elite E2. All of the hardware and the can itself is top shelf. The bottom unscrews to empty it. With 1500 miles since installation, I have collectedover 2 oz. of a nasty oily milkshake type liquid that would have been otherwise consumed by the engine.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
