Who in their right mind would rattle can paint their entire brand new truck?

Look it up, people are using this shit on vehicle far more expensive then our trucks. I was at a car show a few years ago and there was a brand new M5 BMW plastidipped some god awful baby blue…

I personally hate the stuff…

And Maineman I think your truck looks great and I'm glad you had the balls to commit to that paint job… I may have missed it in all the nonsense, but what are the rest of your plans for the truck…

Are you running a level? No rubbing?

Looks great. Do you have any side pics?

2.5 inch level. Stock rear blocks. With regular driving it slightly rubbed one time.

Or I'm aware that I could just order black bumpers and swap em out, money for the paint can be saved, with patience anything is attainable.

I love it and that's the problem with posting on forums. Someone will hate and tell you what they'd do. Id almost guarantee that someone soon will TELL you to remove the air dam lol. If I could afford to repaint mine I'd match it to my harley. Flat black and black pearl. Good job bro, post pics when it's all done. I'd like to see it.

Will do, I love these trucks and Never seen backlash like that before

I'm not being hateful, truck looks great, I just really don't think its painted. You should snap some pictures of the door jambs though.

Ok, we'll accept that you had it painted if you provide name and phone number of shop that did the work, a copy of your receipt showing how much you paid, and, if available, video of the work as its being done. LOL

Damn, everyone hating on Maineman's truck just because he chose to go outside of the box and get the truck painted. What's wrong with the matte black? I think it looks good, though I personally wouldn't do it myself but I still think it looks good. His is one of the very very few I've seen where the owner has decided to go and make a change in something as big as color. 99% of trucks on this forum have been one of the stock colors, no need to hate just cause he chose to go with something that wasn't offered and had to be done after purchasing. It's just like the aftermarket add ons that we have added to our trucks. Some like to be taller, some stay the same, some drop it low and there's no many more options that could be mentioned. Hell, that's one big thing that this forum is for, to show off the modifications that we all choose to do to our trucks and to help out other members if they come to the forum to ask for advice or questions or anything! Yes I realize everyone here is just stating their opinion but no need to make them all hating comments, it's his truck, his decisions to do what he wants. And what would he gain from lieing about whether it's painted or not? He said its painted so why not just believe its painted.

Also, what's so wrong if it was plastidip? (Yes I know it's not but even if it was, dipping is still a legitimate way to change the color just like wrapping with vinyl or a real paint job, different strokes for different folks!)

To Maineman:

Nice lookin truck man, it's not my personal taste but it looks good!

The truck is PAINTED. I wouldn't insult you guys' modifications integrity So respect mine. And no I'm no paint tech, no it's no plastic dipped, no it's not wrapped.

last night I watched a marathon of North Woods Law on Animal Planet -- all those guys working the backwoods of Maine drive the GMC Sierra. Just an observation.

I think we owe Maineman an apology. One at a time we're all going to apologize to him and tell him we believe he painted his truck and then we'll tell him how good his truck looks and how we think he is special for painting his truck while we settled for the factory colors. LOL.

Nothing too major, I'm going to do the usual, Spray on bedliner, tonneau cover, some 18s wrapped in 33s, recon lights, black high country front and rear bumpers, switch out anything that's chrome. And some 10in subs

You should create a build thread for your truck if you haven't already! Also check out the NVXVCW10 subs. That's what I got. 2 under the back seat and they are great. They hit hard enough for me to feel like they compete with my old Rockford Fosgate T1 12s

Yeah, I have to agree with Wendy on this one - I've worked in a high end decal/wrap/tint shop for over 6 years. That unit is definitely dipped or wrapped - My money is on wrap. I can spot a wrap a mile away.

Sometimes two miles on a clear day.
