CorvetteOJ Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 My Denali 6.2 has finally reached the rail head, 100 miles north of my dealership. Estimated delivery to dealer is tomorrow, Nov. 6. Herein lies the current issue. I ordered the 22" wheel package (SEY). The dealer told me when I ordered it, the truck would be shipped with "steelies" and the 22s would be shipped separate and installed at the dealership. However, they never told me I wouldn't be able to take delivery until the wheels were installed. Now, the truck is coming tomorrow and no one knows where the wheels are. On top of that, the dealership tells me they can't release the truck to me without the wheels. The "steelies" are not meant to be driven on the street. I can't write my true feelings here or I would be kicked off the forum, but suffice it to say, I am POed!!! I ordered the truck on Sept.19th. It was built on Oct. 18th, and shipped on Oct. 25th. If they didn't ship them until the truck was built, that was three weeks ago. Hell, UPS could ship them around the world three times in three weeks! For those of you who ordered the SEY 22" wheel package...BEWARE! Just another road block and major surprise in the truck ordering process.
mzodarg Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 For 2 months now, I've been hearing that the 22" wheels that are on my truck are not available. It sucks that you have to wait, hope it all works out.
Willc11 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Wow OJ! You would think for a $50k truck, your dealer would scramble to find you some wheels. You would also think your sales manager who be more proactive as you are not the 1 st customer to order a vehicle with 22's. I wonder he he has some new take off wheels he could slap on your truck until yours make it in. Will
DanielAcosta Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 My dealer had aftermarket wheels and tires installed before I bought the truck. I took it to Discount Tire who confirmed they were quality wheels and tires at a reasonable price, so I kept them. The dealer was willing to let me have DIscount put something else on and just bring them back their wheels and tires if I wanted to. My dealer's willingness to work with me was one of the major reasons they got the sale over the many other dealers in my area. Point being, I believe if you just ask your dealer should be able to work with you. They're in it to make a sale, so just ask. If they don't have their own department that does aftermarket installs, then ask them to put wheels on from another truck to give you the chance to go to Discount or somebody else to get your own wheels. BTW, just about any tire aftermarket will probably be better than what comes on the truck, especially if you want to go oversize. If you do end up with larger diameter tires, I can tell you the Hypertech programmer does a great job of calibrating your speedometer and odometer. I bought the version that does speedometer only, as I am not interested in messing with the factory tune because I like it just fine the way it is and don't want to risk warranty issues.
BringTheRain403 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 My dealership had to order my wheels separately because they are a "Dealer Installed Item." They weren't aware of this and were surprised when it showed up with steelies. These wheels do not ship with the truck and need to be ordered by the dealership when they know the truck is coming in. I absolutely LOVE my SEY wheels (they even have my father wanting a new GMC with the same wheels. This is the same guy that thinks anything over a 16" wheel on a truck is stupid). The guys at my dealership still talk about these wheels on this truck...
EChavez Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 OJ, I am really sorry to hear that I know you've been waiting on your truck patiently for a good while now. I would get on the dealership's manager and make sure those wheels are delivered asap. If anything they should loan you a set of wheels for now because that's pretty ridiculous.

The ordering guide has the info: SEY LPO, 22" (55.9 cm) chrome 6-spoke multi-featured design wheels, LPO wheels will come with 4 steel 22" wheels from the factory with alignment specs set to 22" LPO wheel selected (dealer installed)1 - Requires (RHH) 22" all-terrain tires. Not available with (NHT) Max Trailering Package.
ktreece Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Tell them that it's fine that the steelies aren't ready for the road. Ask them if they have any old wheels laying around that you can use. If not, tell them you're gonna snag some off Craigslist for an old sierra for a couple hundred bucks and drive on them for the time being. They can't just sit on the thing over some Dealer Accessory wheels.
BringTheRain403 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I know. I had to tell them they say they called me to tell me it was sitting in their overnight delivery lot. They had to scramble to get them and had then overnight from New York to get then to me. This was literally the first 2014 they sold and I'm sure the first in some torne with the 22's...
